I am itching to paint it, but it has to wait til I do my head on my KE35, and extractors :D

 

And NO ONE is going to know what colour I choose....until I do it, I am sick of people using my ideas

Because I am beyond stupid.

 

So far tonight, I have watched it boil all the way to my mates house, and ping when trying to cruise up hills.

 

Got there, we played with the timing again, went for a drive, got 2 streets and cough, die...wouldn't go.

 

Got it to half run enough to get it back to mates place, where we tried to figure out what was wrong with it....points are good, rotor button good, cap good, leads good. Carby good, nothing in the engine bay looked out of place.

 

Then it ran, and idled, and wouldn't rev. Blocked fuel filter for sure, take filter in engine bay out, no different, jack car up in the dark and lay underneath it and pull the filter off from with the electric fuel pump, put back together, car runs fine.

 

Less running hot, as it's not leaning out now, less heat=less pinging, so all seemed well, took it for a flog around the block, then went looking for dinner, and BOOM no lights, no dash lights, engine stopped.

 

Roll into car park, still no dash lights, but suddenly have head lights again. Looks closely, and there is a VERY faint dash light. Push start car, runs fine....drive it home, turn it off, turn it back on, has dash lights, and starts car fine.

 

Just drove it all the way home without a hicup. I think the battery may have dropped a cell and shorted out internally, the battery is not a flash one, so I will use the battery out of the coupe (HARDTOP :D ) and see how I go tomorrow.....so here it is 11:30 and I am FINALLY home, and dying for dinner...

i want supercharged oldcorolla to play around with too :D

Quick update, I just took the little rocket for a drive, and flogged it to within an inch of it's life, and it f@$kin screams, and it's all quiet cuz of the standard exhaust...I love it, I am going to suprise so many people :D

 

Didn't run hot, and didn't have any issues with the battery. So I will just keep an eye on it all, and see how I go.

That's very nice. Love the rims on it, and good work with the engine.

Now that is a tuff K engine, all i say is i want. :D

Well the 5K is a tough K engine....the 4K is standard, and on it's last legs, so we will see how long it lasts.

 

Might get a power run done on the dyno too, get some figures.
