Jackson Posted October 7, 2011 Author Report Posted October 7, 2011 evan thats probably more pressure than you need and not so great on the motor. Yeah, me dads truck doesn't even have that much once it's warmed up. jackson, just drive it til it dies mate, theyll knock forever. That's the plan, I'll just keep me eye out for one needing a rebuild then have it waiting until this one dies. Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) LoL! Definitely mechanical are the way to go, (until a line breaks anyway!) I guess it could just be a tapet, Yep- they wear to an upside-down 'U' shape where they rub on the valve, and the feeler gauge bridges that gap, so the real gap is larger than you measure. I can't get rid of one, set them a dozen times. Edited October 7, 2011 by altezzaclub Quote
Evan G Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 4ks don't blow up they just slowly loose all power and die :lolcry: Quote

love ke70 Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 altezza, i know that feeling, i set all mine on my TD42 in my patrol tight, and the fuel economy difference and low down power was about 200km per tank difference. was like OMG! haha each rocker is about 50 bucks so I'm not replacing them, just gonna set them tight from now on :P Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 (edited) In the past I have found a bit of wire of the right thickness, a kitchen tie or similar, and used that stuck in endways. With the Datsun 1600 rally car we would set them using a protractor on the cam, but these damm sidecams are a nuisance for that! Edited October 8, 2011 by altezzaclub Quote
