t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 ok so i have low fuel pressure in my injector rail on my 3tgte low enough it wont start........................................................... things i found that don't seem right 1. fuel pump is constantly screaming away IT SOUNDS LIKE IT ISNT BUILDING PRESSURE like it should 2.when i crimp the return line after the regulator it will idle and build up pressure in the rail. 3. had the engine out of the engine bay for about a month just had all fuel drained from the fuel rail 4. tried 4 differnt regulaters that havent been near fuel for over 12months my theories 1. its the regulater even after trying 4 all have been left out of fuel and dried and craked in the diafram thingo there fore thats why none have worked and manualy regulating the fuel by crimping the return hose after the reg and the car will run. I'm sure its this one many people agree and overs say no 2. crazy thought boost leak ???? it is boost reference and vacum Quote
dbr11k Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 my mate had this problem the other day, we stuck the regulator in a press and squished it down a bit, just enough to get some pressure back up until he can afford an aftermarket fpr. Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 just standard old pos ones Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 when you say squashed how squased the whole thing Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 What size are the regulators? what u actualy mean in size like pressure and stuff Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 ok battery has 12v pump is only getting 10v could that be it :hmm: Quote
ke70dave Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 details on pump size, type, location. it should be close to silent, if only a small high pitch sound. if its an external pump, they arent designed to suck. Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 its externall not sure on full specs but has been sucking on its own in the car i got it from with motor running fine and its a tad noisy Quote
Trev Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 4. tried 4 differnt regulaters that havent been near fuel for over 12months when you say squashed how squased the whole thing You hit them on the top with a hammer and it increases pressure but don't do it. what u actualy mean in size like pressure and stuff Thought you were using aftermarket pumps. details on pump size, type, location. it should be close to silent, if only a small high pitch sound. if its an external pump, they arent designed to suck. Plenty of external pumps that that lift and supply pressure. Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 ok soooooooooo could it be shitty power Quote
Trev Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Yes, it will only supply a certain amount of flow/pressure at 10 volts. Sorry to question your ability but do you have it hooked up properly? Fuel feed > fuel dampener (looks like a reg in some cases but yours may not have one) > fuel rail > fuel reg > fuel return? Quote
t18drifts Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 fuel tank > efi pump > efi fuel filter > fuel dampener> fuel rail> fuel reg > return also have more reason i think it mat be no working in the previous car the pump was mounted a lot lower from were i have it about 10cm and has low voltage trying to suck fuel.... ect Quote
Trev Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 ok. Start testing your theories then. Quote
