ke70dave Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Plenty of external pumps that that lift and supply pressure. thus there are plenty of external pumps out there making horrible noises from cavitation, and trying to do a job that they arent designed to do. not saying it wont work, but its certainly not ideal. especially if there are other dramas present (low voltage especially) T18drifts if you are indeed just using a single external high pressure pump, you need to get it as low as possible to give it the best hope in working properly (not in the boot, lower). under car, inline with the bottom of the tank, so it is not trying to suck fuel up hill. if you get it nice and low you can take advantage of the sifening present in the system, which should help your pump out. but it will still probably cavitate and carry on. little fact with a bit of tech thrown in, the VL pump that everyone loves to use (ie just a bosch external), also uses an intank lift pump, so the high pressure pump actually sees positive pressure at the pump inlet. this keeps the pump happy. but knowone seems to use the lift pump. i did on my ke70, and the pump was completely silent. where as without it, it was noisy as. also make sure you have a nice chunky wire going to the positive terminal of the pump ( i used 2 x 1.5mm^2 wire, which is quite chunky wire to begin with). and also make sure that the negative terminal on the pump goes directly to the chassis, don't run the negative back to the battery, just go directly to chassis. once you have this, get the pump running and get a multi meter and measure across the two terminals of the pump, you should see ~12-13V when the car is running (with a working alternator), any less and you have voltage drop. let us know how you go eh. irokin Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Context Trev, context. Its all very well that those pumps exist but in this case he has a high pressure EFI pump sucking. fuel dampener Does that make your fuel moist or something? :P Quote

t18drifts Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 ok i have no idea what type of pump it is as it came with the parts car i got. yes its roaring like f@$k becuse all the regs i have tried as f@$ked as............. well there just f@$ked and are letting all the pressure straight out of the rail. tried the squashing of regulater. there is no way in hell i would run a car like that but runing no dump pipe gasket proberly doesnt help with the air fuel mix as gases are bypassing the o2 censor (i havent driving this car yet just idling it and seing if it leaks and shit) i am pretty happy though cuz I'm holding all fluids in the engine :D just need a dump gasket for the t25 also getting a surge tank and adjustable fuel reg tomoro (non rising rate) yes i know non raising rate but its turbo t18drifts................................. i am only running 7 psi untill i can afford intercooler and proper rising rate regulator the nice man at the local performance shop hooked me up with the one he is personaly using on his 400hp gts skyline he says its fine using these regs up to 18psi any higher and you need a rising rate one...........,,,,,,,,,, so i got one what pressure should i run guys i am gonna run 7psi-8psi what rail pressure should it be seing i assume it will idle well try to idle and be rich as f@$k in the lover revs as the higher pressure will only be good when boost comes on. (correct me if I'm wrong) i want to get a digital meter for my air fuel mix how you set somthing like that up Quote
