dougyboy Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 hey agan i have had no luck in getting my 4age running thats in my ae71 i wos giving a old ae82 i think? with a 4ac in it carby motor. i know i will have to change fual pump back to a low pressher, that i will have to change the frunt half of the exhurts system.i just wont to know if the water pump of the 4age will bolt onto the 4ac?? or will i have to leave the pump on and addapt a water system to change from frunt wheel drive to rear wheel drive. after i get car going and regod i will be looking into gaskets for the 4age and the carby set up and a 6al for spark. so i can do away with the injecton system becuse man i have wiring!! so yeah any info on the frunt wheel drive motor into a ae71 wood be nice thanks. Sam_Q Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 apparently the front wheel drive 4ac engines didn't have the holes tapped for the engine mounts. Which isn't a hard job really assuming the holes are already the right size Quote
dougyboy Posted December 13, 2011 Author Report Posted December 13, 2011 ok well i can drill and tap the holls out to sute. hope thats all i have to worry about Quote

carbonboy Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 So back on topic, the water pumps are in the same physical location & have different outlet housings/directions depending on whether or not they're FWD or RWD items. Whether or not a carby pump will bolt up to a fuel injected engine or vice-versa, I don't know, having never tried it. In theory it should. The 2AC & 4AC (FWD) pumps are throwing up the same part numbers but are different to the 4AGE (FWD) item. These part numbers are different again for the RWD 4AC & 4AGE. Having said that, you could just find some correctly shaped hose to suit (annoy the person at your local auto-parts store to go through hose catalogue, take measurements first), but according to an old thread on ae86dc it's not worth it. This may be handy though, scroll down to the '4AGE Water System' section, there's some handy info there on pump differences. http://www.billzilla.org/4agstock3.htm Quote
