Where To Get 5K Hd Valve Springs?

Featured Replies

Hey, I'm in need of some hevy duty valve springs for my 5k engine.. I need to get them as my head and cam is getting worked..

Also too, it would be good if it was around the goldcoast area

ring crow cams. or put holden 202 valve springs in it if your a tightass

I'm kinda tight on cash, but iv found some for $150 from tighe.. Is that a decent price?

Umm, why?????? My 5k would pull 7500+rpm on standard springs. I know it would rev that hard as thats when the shift light would come on.

the 202 springs are too big... i don't know where this comes from but its a sloppy fit at best. crow cams part number 4220-8, any part store should be able to get em from nasons engine parts.

Why:

Running a bigger cam, with .423 lift, when stock springs are max .4** lift..

The factory springs can't cope with that amount of lift.

Horseshit. Mine ran for ages with .480 lift. Admittedly it broke a spring, after about 10000 miles.

That fact in the FAQ needs correcting, it is not the case for 5k hydros at least.

Get crow 4220s about 120 a set, delivered.

crow 4220's are what exactly?

so just keep running stock for now, till they ^ arrive?

Hi,

Heads up number is on here I have posted it before but off top of my head 5K valve springs are 9lbs more load than normal 3/4/1/2K springs. So if you have heaps of lift yes might die but wont be quick.

And my stock 5K springs I run max lift a stock spring will take I got cam ground to .400" lift I have seen 7500+ and still going.......so id save the cash wait till you can get a good crow cam set done.
