01sik Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 hey guys, a bit confuzzled, i got a t50 from a mate that he got with his sprinter and the slave mounts seem to be on the wrong side? now i have googled it, and come up with pics with t50's with the slave on either side of the box. can anyone explain this? parrot Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Presumably this is behind a 4A type block. 4AC mounts the clutch slave on the passenger side, 4AG mounts it on the drivers side which keeps it and the flexible clutch line away from the exhaust. If yours is on the drivers side, win! You just need to get a clutch hard line from a RA65 or any other Toyota pretty much that also has a hydraulic slave on the drivers side. Quote
Des Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 What he said. Australian Ae71 and Ae86 have it on the passengers side. JDM or factory fitted 4age ae86's have it on the drivers side. Quote
01sik Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 thanks for the info guys, is there any difference in strength between the two? not that its going to be boosted or anything but will probly be put through some fair abuse Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 The only difference is the bellhousing. Which is seperate from the gearbox itself. Quote
parrot Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 If the slave is on the drivers side, you need a clutch slave from a TE72. The AE71/AE86 item at your local part shop won't work. Quote
