Hey I'm new to these corollas, and I have a 4kc in my ke70 and it's running like a dog the second last cyl is not firing, ive changed the plug and the lead and it's still not firing but it's sparking, I can pull the lead off and it will run the same at idle and revs! Is it a sticky valve or what's the problem

hard to say mate, do a compression test before anything. could be valve/hg related or could be something simple like a coil/points/dissy cap

If it is just that one cylinder and everything else is running fine, then it will be a valve problem. Burnt valve or ruined seat, either way its head off time, or if you're unbelievably lucky a tappet has closed up..

Do a compression test before you do anything else, the readings on the other cyls will tell you how good the rings are. It may be time for new rings too.

It may also just be that one of your points of contact (inside the distributer) is badly worn, broken,or bent etc..check that also before taking head off maybe?

Just a last measure of eliminating any little probes before you get into taking the head off.

But if not,..then I'm going with Altezzas advice.Mezz

Another guy on here had the same issue, turned out to be a lead (too much resistance when trying to ignite compression), I recommend to swap 2 leads around and see if the issue stays on number 3 or moves.
