muller Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 my old ke20 that i had, was taking a mate home and it was wet so i gave it to it goin round the corner but it just single spun and didnt kick out, but the point is that i had 12" stockies on it and chees cutter tyers and i reved first out and i hit at LEAST 8 grand, horrible noise. I'm rebuilding that one soon anyway. should go see if i can hit 9 :D what will a standard 4k not rev past? (not hi-jacking thread) i had the same problem with one of my engines, oil where it shouldnt have been but I'm pretty sure that it was just overtight plug tube thingis. squished the o-ring and bunched it up over one side. undid the 4 of them anyway, got some new o-rings and then she was all good to go again. no more oil. although my engine wasnt coughin and spluterin though. :y: Quote
love ke70 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 anyone know where peak power is on a stock 4k? ive taken mine to 7000 and slid my foot sideways off the clutch, but axle tramp isnt so cool these days :D just wondering, coz dad always whinges when i hit 4500-5000 b4 changin, its where she feels best tho... anyone with knowledge? cheers, andrew Quote
love ke70 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 but whats the point of revving so high unless you have a cam to suit? wheres the power band on a stock cam? Quote
love ke70 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 yeah thats about when it stops pulling....weird. have to see how the 1g goes :D should be up and running next week with any luck oh and btw, that cam is just ridiculous...i love it :y: haha Quote
beerhead Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I abused it for about 6 -7 months with a fresh head with daily 7500 visits. Valve springs were about 12mm shorter than some that I pulled off another head when I shimmed it up. mmm 100 kph in 2nd, soo much noise :D Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 You wont be able to rev very high with a stock cam. Mine feels like it comes on cam (snail spec stock cam) at about 3500rpm and pulls to about 6000rpm. well judged :D peak power on stock cam is 6000rpm Quote
love ke70 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 so peak power is on the redline...what an interesting concept good to hear that, cheers :D Quote
ke35coupe Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 i agree with the k-series cups being shit, they not only get streatched but wear relly thin from being tightend 2, use (at the very leasd) a silicone sealer that wont mix in with the oil. and b carefull when u remove the plugs and the cups that you don't lose any more oil down the spark plug holes. ke35coupe Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 well redline is 6500 on the dash of my ke35 hehe Quote
love ke70 Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 in the ke70 its 6000, and in the owners manual they even say 6000, i just gotta find it now to prove it to my self Quote
ke35coupe Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 ok, heres the daftest question ive ever asked but here goes.....what does de-loomed mean? Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 8500rpm. been there, done that Quote
