Willis Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Check the Engine Conversions section of the site. Might crop up a few ideas... Quote
SLW42 Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 How bigs ya wallet to start with!!?? The usual upgrades for a ke20 is keeping it k motor like 5k, then there is a step up to the 4age, then a step up from that is ca18det, Sr20det all these WILL fit without cutting the body at all, there is HEAPS of things to shove in a 20 just depends how much you wanna spend!!! SLW42 Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Take a page out of Oke020's book and just 2J the thing. Gotta cut the firewall lol, get a ta22 and put a j motor in it, fits and doesn't need firewall mods hahaha Quote
Willis Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Just remove the firewall lol. She'll be right hahaha Quote
SLW42 Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Just put abitta sheetmetal around your feet and remove the passengers seat hahaha, that's how ghetto I am!! Quote
Willis Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Sheetmetal? We use ply and scotch tape where I come from hahaha Quote
SLW42 Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Oh shit ply..... You stepped it up, plastic and sikaflex FTW!!!! Quote
Willis Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Sikaflex, zipties and gluesticks. Can't go wrong. ;) Quote
altezzaclub Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Probably a 3T in the States, I doubt you will find any 5K over there. Basically any 4cyl under 2L, but you might run into brake cylinder clearance issues with some of them. Your steering wheel is on the wrong side! :laff: Quote
parrot Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 Meanwhile back at the ranch.....:rolls: As per Altezzaclub, a 2T or 3T would be the way to go. You will need to source the correct crossmember and front suspension including struts, brakes and steering knuckles, but should be easy to find in the states. A 5 speed gearbox (T50 from a T series engine) bolts straight on, but I am not sure how readily available they are in the states. Later boxes T50 boxes have the gearstick located differently but easily managed. Note there are T50 boxes that bolt behind 4A/4AGE engines which won't bolt up to a T series engine.
