ke70dave Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 here is another good thread: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/52240-4age-20v-into-ke70-confustion-parts-list/ you do realise, that to pay someone to do this, you are looking at something like $10k+ ? kaizen garage in brisbane are known to work alot with toyotas and RWD. good luck! Willis Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 I'm doing a blacktop 20v in my 70. Your mechanic isn't a problem solver is he.... You need to move your distributor and/or remove it and get an aftermarket ECU and convert to coil on plug. You'll probably need an aftermarket ECU anyway because you have an AFM'd silvertop Then you need one of these Cooling Systems and then your usual RWD stuff, spigot bearing, mounts, crossmembers, tailshaft etc The search bar will solve your problems ;) By the way...How do those bigports go? haha Quote
gt500biatch Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 is the main issue the cooling ? (like thats gna cost me the most) am i better off swapping my ke70 for a ae71 or something ? or swapping my 20v for a 16v ? iv got oversized cams, high comp pistons the lot, Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 (edited) Yes there is no such thing as a silvertop Bigport. The 4age generations are like this: (basic terms anyhow) 1- Bigport (ae86 aw11 and ae82). 2- 7 rib bigport (not many made - crosses over in late ae82 and early ae92). 3- Smallport (ae9x series corolla). 4- Silvertop 20v (ae101 levin and trueno). 5- Blacktop 20v. (ae11 series levin and trueno). Along the way there were supercharged versions called 4agze. These were in AW11 MR2s(bigport) and ae92 levin (smallport). For all the finer points, google for Bill Sherwoods 4age page and read it all. Its extremely enlightening. Edited April 11, 2012 by LittleRedSpirit Quote

Take LittleRed up on his offer. Give him a call. You don't to swap anything with anything, you just need to spend a little bit more money. Quote
gt500biatch Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 i do have an aftermarket ecu... which i was running in my ae92 with my motor (just crashed it so decided to do this pain in the ass conversion lol ) Quote

If already have the parts to build a hot 20v, do that. Its going to make almost twice the power of a stock bigport. I just hope you budgeted for a programmable ecu. You can use an adaptronic basic select, wolf 3d, haltech, it doesnt really matter as long as its not a microtech. Quote
