Hi Everyone,

I have an AE92 Sedan (AE94 Actually) with a 4AFE..i have been contemplating several options for an Engine swap for awhile now and ultimately decided to do a 4AGE 20V swap.

the way i plan to go about it, is to buy a front cut and go from there.

now i can go about putting the engine in..but with the loom and the under dash wiring i am not so confident..

in terms of plugging the loom into "Speedo gauge, air con, steering wheel column....heck the whole lot!"

plain an simply i CAN do the engine bay part...thats a simple swap including the wiring HOWEVER;

I would NOT have a clue as to how to wire it under the dash to make it work with the existing AE92 peripherals.. (speedo cluster, AC unit, Steering column, etc..

would be so easy if there was a thread outlining how to go about it :P

are there mechanical workshops out there in Western Sydney that can do this swap? are there contacts?

I'm sure there are, but i just don't know anyone..

any info on this would be much appeciated!!

If you have to pay someone to do it, you'll be paying a lot...

Auto electricians really aren't cheap..

Try and find a wiring diagram, a lot of it is just plugging stuff in, so even if you get as much done as you can it'll still work out cheaper

Thanks heaps for that!!

What do you mean steering column?

I mean the plug right next to iginition barrel on the steering column, theres a plug for at least 15-20 wires there...

you shoudlnt have to touch it. remember, what you are doing is:

taking an engine from a late model corolla, and shoehorning it into an early model corolla.

you need to remmeber that it was never meant to go on there, so therefore its not just a matter of plugging and playing.

you need to work out what you need to do, work out how it works on the original car where the 20V came from and figure out how you can adapt it to your ae92.

also search ;)

heres another one that may have some good info. looks like he asked a slightly different question to you, but from all the info there i think some of it will help.
