HI all,

I am tring to get some 13" or 14" second hand rims for my ke20 but i am having some problems, all the ones i find do not fit on..

I have two question first is what stud pattern does a ke20 have i know its 4 stud but whats the spacing?

second is how hard would it be to change my stud pattern to a ke70 setup? I get get 14" wheels and tyres for $20 each with ok rubber for that size so would it be worth doing this conversion

110mm x 4. Mazda Stud Pattern.

13's are quite easy to get hold of. 14's are rare.

KE70 pattern is the same as KE30/55. Been talked about before, a search should find you the right info.

I have done it and I think Ive written about it here before.

Basically I used KE70 hubs (with KE20 bearings) and calipers with KE30 backing plates (although you should change the size of the bolts to suit it perfectly I never had any issues...). For the rear I used KE30 axels and drums (I left the backing plates as-is). This worked for a while, but in reality the axels are slightly too long and the bearings flogged out. Then when we tried to remove the axels we couldnt because the end of them had burred on the pinion. In the end we found another pair of axels (from a KE38 from memory) took the diff out of my KE30 parts car and cut the mounts off and welded the KE20 mounts on it. The diff is slightly longer but It didnt cause too much greif for me. If youve got low offset wheels you might have problems.

ok thanks for the info,

is it possible to put a whole ke70 rear end ( wheel to wheel ) in to a ke20? I can buy a whole ke70 for $100 but i like my little ke20 so i would like to keep that and use the ke70 for parts.

thanks again

Easily? No But if there is a will there is a way. The problem is that the ke70 is a coil sprung 5 link setup and the ke20 is leaf sprung live axle so its not as easy as welding on the leaf spring mounts.

also mazda 626 RWD rims fit. 13 x 5.5". i've bought 10 so far from the wreckers for under $100.

if you run mazda steel rims you have to file the center hole on the fronts slightly, otherwise they are a bitch to get off.

Let's just say "no".

It's easier that way.
