ke70dave Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 welcome mate. How much money you got? how much can you do yourself? what you want to use the car for? That is the difference between a 5k conversion, and a twin turbo LS1. Quote
madkp61 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 http://www.turners.co.nz/Damaged/Pages/Car.aspx?RefId=1080127well its just going to be a street car, money wise don't really know as its a long term project as ive got a ke30 aswell, but was wondering if i could use this motor to repower the wagon? click on link and see the pics of the motor. ke70dave Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 hmmm thats a FWD 1.6L 4afe. its pretty simliar to a FWD 1.6L 4age (VERY popular conversion in ke70), cept the 4afe has the distributer out the back of the engine, I'm not sure there is an easy solution to this. Quote
madkp61 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 So would it not be worth doing it? Or would it be to hard Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 If you were going down that route it would be a far better idea to go for a 4AGE. Quote
ke70dave Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I do recall seeing someone on here who had converted a 4afe to RWD. it was a ke20 wagon i think, possibly some guy called "Greenmac"? Quote
Jordanrolla Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php/136-KE this guy seems to be pretty helpful engine mount and pedal box wise ;) Quote
madkp61 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 So would it be worth doing? And has anyone else done it before if so could you give me a link to a build thread. Thanks Quote
Jordanrolla Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 waste of time putting a 4afe in it. Yeah there cheap but the amount of time and money to get it going you could have put someting else in there with a much better end result. Sooo many other engine options available. If its a rwd car, start with a rwd engine. Quote
