  1. Many years have passed, multiple attempts at giving up and even listing it for sale but no one else was serious enough to finish it. Alot of work down, so very close to turning the key
  2. Over a year and its just been sitting in the corner getting dusty and cobwebs. Making excuses that I'm too busy etc. Decided to make a switch to a vvti version Hilux diff is almost in and can measure up for tailshaft as soon as its in
  3. I sell bolt in 3RZ to KE70 kits, no firewall/tunnel mods
  4. I heartily endorse this event or product
  5. funny i didnt mention it to you
  6. There's doing things and then there is doing things right. A 1jz is a big heavy long engine for a corolla, so you would want a driveline and suspension to be able to match the engine. A hilux diff minimum the cost of buying it, converting it, lsd center, handbrake cables etc, thats over $1000 on its own and thats with drums, disc brakes even more cost. Then a big tailshaft to suit with solid uni's $600ish. A decent fuel system to feed the thirsty 1jz surge tank, pre pump, 044 or similar, custom fuel lines because the inlets on the other side and there aint much room in the tunnel especially if your going auto. Getting close to 3k already. Then you have to get creative with radiator and intercooler setup, you would want some decent brakes and full suspension if you want to be able to stop and turn and then the 100's of small things that go along with conversion that add up soo quickly. Engineering cost? Before you know it your doubling or tripling your original budget. Then once your on the road what about teething problems, all the small pain in the ass figuring out problems that cost. 3k . . . lol at 3k
  7. 1jz wagon can be modplated, but you would be stupid to take some guys word off a forum. Best to check with the correct authorities and find an engineer that will confirm he will sign off on it. If its a case of, ive got a ke70 that I got for cheap and a 1jz thats just sitting around even if you do everything yourself and got all the tools its still going to cost 5-8k (thats what I'm budgeting for)
  8. So things are finally happening Tunnel enlarging time Wait . . . What? who put that in there? So I got it approximately 40mm further back than my previous attempt. New mounts suit a AE71 crossmember and also clear a AE86 power steering rack should I wish to install it. Still undecided
  9. haha, yeah man need to stop taking on so much work so I can do something for myself. Definately keen to get stuck into it. Sweet man, still keen to borrow it.
  10. So I'm not sure if you you call removing the standard engine progress, but thats all ive had time for. At least ive marked the beginning of the project finally. Surprisingly quick and easy to pull the 4a out over a 4k. So need to pull the dash apart, need to replace the start of the tunnel for the auto bellhousing. Also going to be deleting the heater and replacing it with a 12v one to give me more room at the back of the engine and tidy up the engine bay a bit.
  11. yeah pretty much a waste of money and time. Better off going 4ac (carby)
  12. looks good, haveent had a car engineered in a while and the last guy i used is apparently retired. He was a cranky old fart anyways. Yeah don't sell it, at least finish it and guaranteed you wont want to sell it after your first drive.
  13. Nice ride man, looking tidy
  14. CA18DE + auto, you can buy them cheap as chips as no one wants them, they are already rwd, they fit really really well in a ke30/55 from what i hear (chuckle) and there are bolt in kits available. Definately do-able for under 5 grand with change if your a diy'er
  15. I hear if you use the ta22 T50 gearbox it has the same spline for the manual KE30 tailshaft
  16. Yeah how good is it! 1UZ now legal in a RA23/28. That is definitely on the wish list 1UZ, T56, 4.77 diff gears, cams in a RA23 :D
  17. I'll manage something Picked up my 10's from the powdercoaters, they look so nice but unfortunately now i have to get the fronts done also
  18. Oh how plans can change so quickly. The original plan was to start with a standard 1JZ with auto run by stock management and mod as i go along, but then a package comes up and its too hard to say no to. So I went and bought this . . . 401hp 1JZ engine package healthy 1JZ Greddy cam gears 550cc injectors aftermarket coilpacks adaptronic ecu Garrett 35/40 Single manifold Tial gate Considering ive got 3 W58's, 2 NPC 500hp rated clutch setups and only 1 auto gearbox I guess ill just have it manual, maybe put a built auto in it down the track So the first drive should be an interesting one
  19. exhaust ports look real good, almost if not as big as the size of the inlet ports!
  20. who did the porting and whats the flow specs?
  21. yeah i thought the fitment was pretty good . . . lol Whens the expected finish date?
