sebsta
gday all my name is sebastian iam 16 years old and have been playing around with toyotas for around 2 years first we started off with a 1980 ra40 that we got to autocross events and very soon our collection grew to about 6 celicas :) so any way i wanted to do rallying so started building myself a car ... it started of like this got it for $200 from ballarat , it is a factory auto :( but not to worry as i have enough bits to make it Manuel i am planning on painting like the 1979 ra40 TTE 'african safari' celica i quickly started stripping it to much suprise there was little rust , i got most of the interior stripped then soon stopped work on it as we brought the ra23 to rally for this year so my car was put on hold as i was working on the ra23 getting it ready to race... . snot35
I like the idea of the TTE '40. No doubt you've seen the Neal Bates one around. That thing is awesome!
airocobra
Just the best way for a RA40 to look !! Rumour has it more of these being built , after his Otargo rally win there will be a few people out there with the $$$$ that want one . snot35
I don't suppose anyone knows how they did the ignition in this thing? Given it's on Webers. I remember trying to look at a magazine article about it and it almost looks like they have a cable driven remote mounted dizzy?
sebsta
i believe they use a computer to run a coil pack on each cylinder and just use a crank sensor to tell it when to fire , it is simple to do and not to expensive ,but they may have done it another way...
