Thanks guys, no Adam have not brought anymore celicas since this one ...for now haha , hopefully the colour isn't too dark doogs , looks very similar to the Toyota 86 grey , going to go for a red gt stripe to add some highlights to the gretly

,ok update time . got a bit more done ..... car is now mostly in primer just trying to get everything perfect before i paint the base coat on ... also got the freshly restored hotwires on the ra28

so work begin within minutes on the grey car ! started stripping to get rid of the rust and dents . ][/size] even using Japanese newspaper fixing rust in sills and a skim of bog to get them perfect after welding . bit sad to see the rust had been filled with bog and painted over :/ so had to pull that all out and weld in some steel. also got a rear bob tail spoiler off ian which sets the rear end off nicely ! took a day off working on the car to go to classic japan ! heres dads rally car with the gt grill so spent about 3 weeks on the car getting it ready for primer will be painting the car a AMG Mercedes colour known as tenorite grey so that brings us up to date , have found a rear gt badge and gear knob just need a front gt grill now !

thought i might as well start a build on the newest celica to the collection... spotted it on ebay , turns out it was 5 minutes from home so a short drive over to the guys place to suss the car out , turns out he has had it for the last 16 years and it was his first car . The car has a rebuilt 18rg in it running on 45mm webers and running very sweet ! photos of the car when we got it notice race seat , was used for some hill climb

recovered cracked dashboard in black suede sanding the body in prep for paint ! painted bonnet black ! for the classic look 18rg being assembled with : 9.7:1 early pistons 88230 early cams (higher lift ) 40mm webers extractors

stripping down the 9.7:1 18RG We then sent off bruce to get the full CAMS spec cage welded in

here is the build of our new rally car for the 2014 season although the car is now finished i might as well post it all as rally cars are never finished ! first of all we started off with a red 1981 ra40 liftback missing motor and box .... so one day we came up with the idea of building a new car for rallying and using the ra23 rally car as a track only car .. so we set about work with 100 days until the first rally of the season ! car at the start ... we wasted no time striping the car down ... found a set of neat chrome bars on a parts car that will do the trick , also painted engine bay black started making seat mounts have to notch them into the chassis due to the low roof height ..

Awesome !! can't wait to see this in action and already enjoying the build :D keep up the awesome work !

here is a picture of the rally car we just built ! it runs a rebuilt 18RG with 9.7:1 comp bottom end and 231 early cams and makes 102 kw at the wheels ! , which is then bolted to a w57 ra60 gearbox , to a welded T series diff (for now) need to get a F series rear end sorted and a LSD to make it more drivable as well as a shorter ratio

Lots has been happening on Kermit will update with photos ! , since the last post Dad and I built a ra40 rally car in 100 days so this was put on hold . we have managed to get the beams sorted and running on the ITBs and runs sweet :D also mounted in the car ! what a perfect fit !

Not much has happened on this ra40 , we have built a rally car with other shell and this one is put on hold for a while as dad and i are making a track car and then doing a 28 so this one is still a while off ....

well the old girl is going strong ... i am building another autocross car same as this but with a better driveline ;)

Well the ra23 is going strong :D with 5 out of 5 rallies started and finished ... we have the winton 6 hour on the weekend which will be a good little test for her :) photos coming soon
