Ke70 5 Speed Into Wagon

Hi all, i have just aquired a 5 speed which came from a ke70 and obviously I'm faced with the troubles of it no fitting in my ke36 wagon, id rather not do any cutting etc so my question is.... Can i just swap the extension housings from my 4 speed over into the 5 speed box??????

Probably not, as 5th resides in the extension housing behind the actual gearbox. Take a close look at the extension housing close to the gearbox, see if they look the same and if the K50 doesn't have a larger bulge on one side..

 

I haven't got photos of that particular area, I didn't worry about it when I had them side-by-side.

No can do...as above, you need a 55 style k50 extension housing.
