February 19, 201412 yr comment_677917 i took it apart when i was rebuilding my carb. Inside is a plate that bends with heat. When it bends it opens a valve that opens an air passage that links top and bottom of carburetor. So i recon it gives more idle speed when air temp is hot. Report

February 21, 201412 yr comment_678085 It is a thermostatic valve for the choke. There is no performance gain to be had, by disconnecting it. These carburettors are most efficient with all their bells and whistles. Edited February 21, 201412 yr by GJM85 Report
