  1. My seatbelt was the same , frayed and worn. Got generic one off eBay, fitted it . Total pile of Shit , only good to pass visual test . Material thin , buckle crap . Mounting thin metal etc.
  2. I got the head off I can tap it out from bottom maybe ?
  3. Guys sorry this is not about corolla but about 75 Corona with 18-R motor. Is it possible to remove piston number one with motor still in car? If anyone know please let me know. Thanks.
  4. Hey guys, do you recon 12 inch mags will clear front and rear rotors on a standard ke 55? Thanks,
  5. Just listen to valves bounce then immediately change to next gear
  6. I have a kelford 266 duration cam. It works good but only above 2600. I would recommend advancing standard cam by 5 degrees. And see how that goes
  7. I would recommend keeping the carb . I have a lumpy cam, ported head and ported manifolds and 2 inch zorst. I initially ran stok carb but later put Weber on. I recon stock aisan was making more power . The key is cutting off that stupid snorkel that restricts the flow. My advice , put a kit thru the carb. Tune the idle screw right. Then hacksaw the snorkel shorter or off or put the lid upside down on the air box
  8. Unless you're doing freeway driving 4 speed is the way to go. 4th gear is 1:1. My understanding is that 5 speed is not as strong because they crammed one more pair into same case so the cogs are made smaller. I could be wrong
  9. That's pretty interesting actually. That could explain why after about 5 minutes of going 150 km /hr one night the motor overheated . It was 2 am at night in winter so it was cold . Radiator was flushed etc etc. 4k has a cavity where push rods travel so it could be that the head is lifting up
  10. Nah motor pulls hard sounds like a fiat I recon , must be the Weber . I will make crankcase vent better flowing
  11. Hey good job man. It's not that hard if you take your time. I also take braso and rag and polish everything above fuel venturi. Makes the carb flow a bit better ... Maybe .01% haha . Don't polish below as the mirror surface will form fuel into droplets sorta like water on waxed paint. But yeah top of venturi
  12. Thanks for replies , I just put wire leash on the cap, so I don't have to look for it next time haha
  13. No it's not , I want to get programmable ignition module but jaycar stop making them
  14. Yeah it's push in cap. Yeah rings got changed I did put them in bore and gap was within spec. I think the boresare worn . Just wondering if anyone else had same issue with oil cap
  15. When I rebuilt the motor the bores were good so I honed it, did not do a rebore. Car ran great first year but now when I give it the herbs the oil cap pops off and I have to drive back and look for it. I put it on a piese of wire now. Compression in all cylinders is still good but at 5500 it not only pops it off it pops out dipstick too! Crankcase vent goes to catch can then dumps under the car . So there's little resistance , this thing just generates so much pressure it's unreal. Is the motor cooked ?
  16. I recon put a kit through it. To be honest all u need in that kit is top gasket, and needle and seat. Maybe the high speed plunger if yours is worn out. Just take the carby off the car and get some newspaper , put the carby on the newspaper and place all bits in chronological order if that makes sense. That how I learned years ago. Don't forget to set the float height once you reassemble it. Good luck
  17. That's the video I made, sorry it's bad quality . I will find out what the kit number is. The kit just said bosh distributer
  18. Yeah I still have original pizza cutters on it. Stock diff . Well it's probably going alright then by the General consensus here. I should stop complaining I guess. It is fun little rust bucket and it's all I ever wanted from it .
  19. Yeah 32 36 . 140 secondary and I think 120 primary . Have a 2 inch dodgy exhaust I made on it. Could it be fuel related ? The mechanical pump out of duty ?
  20. Best mod I made was get a generic bosh accuspark kit. Had to modify it a bit , just some filing to match the holes . Basicaly converted the points to electronic for about 70 buks. As a plus no need for resistor so I used gt 40 coil and gapped plugs to .9 good starting and solid timing at high revs . Easy to do
  21. I have a 4k I built up. It has a Weber , port matched intake and exhaust manifolds . Cam with overlap around 266 duration. Head ported. Double valve springs. Accuspark ignition conversion with gt 40 coil. Pulls really brutal from as bout 3000 to 5500 then at 6000 just dies in the ass. Any suggestions ? Cheers guys
