KE354AGE Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Firstly, I AM NOT THE SELLER OF THIS CAR! i am thinking of making an offer, and don't want to offend, him/her...so....what would you pay for this KE10? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Quote
JiP Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 $500.00 If that!! Its got a fair bit of rust and needs a couple replacement panels. Plus donno whats wrong with the bumper. Think about it it'll cost you a bit just to get it on the road. All you know is that all those panels need attention. What about the motor?? May still run but you mostlikely would need to do work befor regestering it. Theres no way he's getting $1,400.00 Tell him he's dreaming. Also, Most paint and panel places wont deal in rust. you may need to deal with that yourself. Quote
Jono Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 (edited) I would pay $1k. and be prepared to spend another $2k to get it on the road. Buy a ke30 or ke55 if you want/need a cheaper car. I know there are a few places that deal with rust specifically. Since the NRMA is rorting so many panel shops, even more are willing to take on private work. I got $910 for my '84 e30 318i on ebay. But people pay up 3 times that for a bmw 2002 in the same condition. Some cars as they get rarer command higher prices and I believe the ke10 is one of these. The condition of the interior is good and the build quality of the ke10 is fantastic, they just feel really solid. Edited March 26, 2006 by JC807 Quote
Fayt Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 any more than a thousand would be stupid, i would say a fair price for both seller and buyer would be $700, trust me by saying that getting bits for ke10's is extremely hard Quote
KE354AGE Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 I know KE10's are more expensive than other models, it doesnt really bother me, but i have this habit of getting obsessed with a type of car and rushing in and buying the first thing that comes up, i usually end up with a pile of crap that i spend heaps of money on then give away. i just don't know weather i should grab this one while i can or wait till a better one comes up...how often do they come up for sale? JiP Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Give it a miss. There's gotta be something better out there. Plus rthe starting bid is way too high. Quote
KE354AGE Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 hes trying to sell it on toymods too, i might wait it out and give him an offer sometime down the track when he sees that nobody wants to pay that much for a beat up KE10 Quote
-RoBeRtO- Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 mate, i got my corolla ke70 for $400 and restored it. for that price thats crap. shop around dude. Quote
Jono Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Really, what you want the finish car to be will depend on how much you spend. a modded ke70 or ae92 for that matter aren't really classic, rare cars. A restored ke10 will turn heads for different reasons. i got 1 and a half ke20's for a case of Jim Beam cans ($60). Then I bought another on ebay for $270. i will have spent $6k by the time its on the road with the 4age, it won't be a show car but a sunday burnout car, but its only $6k. Quote
JiP Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I know you've already made a reply to this but i say considder it. KE20 In Brisbane I'm sure what ever freight costs it'll be worth it. Just look at the picks its in way better nic that the KE10. I'm bummed i can't afford it. Quote
Fayt Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 ke10's and ke20's get lots of looks when I'm driving lots of people gawk at it, probably thinking "thats low" or "thats cool" or "whats that?" or "thats ugly" or "thats small" or whatever :P Quote
Redwarf Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I once paid $300 for a KE10 in better condition than that. IMHO keep looking. For some reason 10's aren't as prone to red cancer as 20's and later. There'll be a better one come along for a better price. R Quote
JiP Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 when I'm driving lots of people gawk at it, probably thinking "thats low" or "thats cool" or "whats that?" or "thats ugly" or "thats small" or whatever :P Thats my favorite part of driving anywhere with my car. I love being first up at the traffic lights. Then when I take off people in all cars around (slight exageration) turn their heads to watch. I love it when pedestrians walking along talking to a friend stop, turn around just to look at your ride. I guess my exhaust plays a big part in it all. But then when i've got their attention, they admire how nice the car is. Its a great feeling. Quote
KE354AGE Posted March 27, 2006 Author Report Posted March 27, 2006 yeah thats half of the reason i want a ke10, theyer unique, anyone that has one is verry fond of it, and remembers it, in my old RX4 i used to get old guys coming up to me in the street, telling me about when they had one, and people would follow me to whereever i was going and talk to me about it, it was great. now somone sell me a KE10!... or 20!
