.T. Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) That looks pretty trick!! Well done! Ke70 or ae71 rack? (they are different) did you cut it down or is it the original width? Edited April 1, 2014 by .T. Quote
ke25srgt Posted April 1, 2014 Author Report Posted April 1, 2014 Looks awesome mate! How long have you been building it? I have owned car about 11 years, was stuffed when i got it, had about 8 different Engine set ups. Just about to re shell it as it has had some bad mods done in the past. Whoops. Quote
ke25srgt Posted April 1, 2014 Author Report Posted April 1, 2014 That looks pretty trick!! Well done! Ke70 or ae71 rack? (they are different) did you cut it down or is it the original width? Is a AW11 Rack, i beleive the same as a AE86 GTV Quick rack. I had to make some small mods to the cross member so the boots wouldnt rub, the rack wasnt modified but the rack ends and tie rods were a mix, and i don't recall what i used, will be a problem when i need to replace, i think i used starlet rack ends... i used the original KE25 column pulling the internals from it and sliding in the KP60 internals into it, was very easy, drill and tap some holes and in. .T. Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 gtv quick rack is the same ratio as ke70 & aw11 (which reminds me i have a set aw11 rack internals somewhere at home!) Ok so pretty similar to my setup the (Although i'm using s13 struts instead of ae86 ones) we didn't get kp60 over here - i used ke70 internals - basically had to notch a collar on it & it all fitted inside the ke25 column. I hybridised the ke25 firewall bracket with the ke70 bottom mount as well to give it strength. must be getting hard to find ke25's over there now! they are getting rather rare here as well these days Quote

There are still a few over here, but not a lot. I got TE71GT too they also getting very rare here Quote
ke25srgt Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Posted April 27, 2014 So i have a new KE25 shell in very good condition. Been stored in Central Otago for 20 years and is nice and straight with very minimal rust, So i am buying up all the wee bits n pieces to make for a extremely tidy TE27 copy from KE25. I been buying up all sorts of goodies. New alloy radiator new dash top new head lights, New light bucketts and crrome all new rubbers techno toy tuning.. Lower control arms Pan Hard bar Door cards front and rear but is a large list of bits to get yet. Centre console 3 gauge heater thing rear quater vents for TE27 Trueno Windsheild vents fot TE27 trueno. Tail light centre garnish for TE27 trueno. and the search carry s on, Ill post picks of shell and progress on it asap Quote
Miximus Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 Crazy motor man! If i get 130hp atw on my build ill be stoked Quote
aalaws Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 Hey Phil Thats a really nice set up you have there mate. I am intending on using similar parts for my build but mechanically I am a noobie and am learning a lot from reading peoples build threads.....slowly :) Forgive my ignorance.....what diff have you used to be able to get the disc brakes in the rear and the lsd? And what was the benefit of swapping out your steering mechanics? Quote
