5K Low Oil Pressure

I got overtaken by a Datsun 120Y with it's A12 with a Weber 32/36, full stock engine :lolcry:

if the A12 can get benefits from it, I think my 5K will also. When it is installed I'm taking it to an old man who can tune them oldschool way :yes:

I had a Datsun 1200 sedan years ago. Great car.

 

Should be good having an old school tuner setting you up. But then of course you will feel the need for a cam, head work, extractors etc etc! You know you can't resist.

 

One tip, get rid of the standard fan and fit a electric fan. Frees up a surprising amount of horsepower on a small engine

So after a weekend of tests still not running.

Engine works on 4 cylinders (thankfully) but it can't idle and stalls.

It idles at around 2000rpms very well for a minute or so, after this starts to choke until it stalls.

For what I read it must be an air leak somewhere. Made new gaskets for the base of the carb, blocked vaccuum hoses very well and didnt make any change.

I think I will need to tow the car to a shop, I can't solve it myself...

I'm just gonna try to replace the PCV valve as I read it can cause rough idle and stalling, but I have no faith at all...

Probably a combination of needing a good tune and probable air leak.
