Hey everyone,

just a quick question i have a 74 KE20 which has had a disc brake conversion on the front KE30 i think, but it doesn't have a booster, and i am informed that to pass mod plate and RWC specs in QLD i need a booster for the disc brakes. Does anyone know if any later Boosters bolt up and work KE30, KE70 e.t.c and has anyone done it, is it easy e.t.c thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

Hey dude i think youve been misinformed. AFAIK there is no requirement for a booster to run disc brakes. I also have a ke20 that was recently regoed and there was no requirement for a brake booster.

yep, i just rego'd a '74 ke20 in NSW without a booster. I'm putting ke55 brakes and a vh44 booster in anyhow.

oh true, the car needs 8 modifications certs for RWC, we compliance and do mod plates at work and my boss is fairly relaxed on a few issues but he said i need a booster for mod plate and rwc, i'd like to put one in any idea's

the disc brake models don't run a booster, whoever is doing the mod certification may think the ke20/25 disc models ran boosters but they don't as far as i know. only ke30 onward corollas run boosters.

Oh true, i didn't know KE20/25 came out disc brake front end, and they didn't have a booster aye, sweet, well i'll let them know and see how i go cheers guys

yep, most of the ke20/25's had discs with no boosters.

 

however if you are doing an engine upgrade (even to a 5k), you may need to add a booster to satisfy your engineering requirements.... depends on who is doing it.

i hve a terrific setup for ke20/25 it is a gemeni booster and master cylinder to suit erarly ke corolla for sale, $100 and it as all yours!
