yo fella's. i got a reconditoned 32/36 webber the other day and as fook knows we had trouble getting a adapter plate for it. so i made one and fitted it to the yella terra today, and wow! the acceleration has so improved so much! it is great. it goes better, sounds tougher and looks the part with that gorgeous ram-flo air cleaner, but it still a couple of flat spots from about 1/3 - 3/4 throttle. i know it's in the tuning but i am not sure how to tune it. the primary mixture is done, i just don't know how to tune the secondary mixture, anyone have instructions, idea's or experience with these carbys???

i just had a bit of a play with it and it seems to be a bit better but i will see what happens after i drive it to work tomorrow. that link isn't working yet. :sad:

ditch the ramflo, they have a reputation for chunking off and putting bits of foam down the carby. personally i like a good quality paper filter. cheap, flows almost as well as a new k&n, and doesn't degrade anywhere near as much when it gets dirty. simple is best :P

Yeah, I'd Agree there, I used to have a ramflo (only cause it was all i could get at the time when i did my carby swap) but I bought a Redline Sports Air Filter with paper element as soon as I could...

i originally wanted a redline 9" filter but they had none in stock and i really wanted the carb on so the ramflo will do for now until i get more money to buy a redline and order one in

hooorrrrraaaaaayyyyy. i put the yella terra in the shop to see what tha f?>k is going on with the weber and they told me i had a huuuuuge vaccuum leak. so i brought it home and pulled it all down and inspected it and found the problem. i made some new gaskets and whacked it back together and problem was solved. reset the timing and tuned the mixtures and bon appetite. now it goes hard. so yes i now agree that webers rock! you just need to make sure you have vaccuum, hmmm.

 

so now that it's all working right, next on the list is:

 

a 5 speed,

extractors,

a new 2 1/4 exhaust

thicker ignition leads

and a respray. that ortoo keep the brother happy.

it was leaking out of underneath the adapter plate. i ahd to weld the plates insides and then make a bigger gasket.

If you want bigger leads to go Qld Ignition Leads, they did mine and they do a good job on the spot for a good price :)
