Does anyone know of anybody running k-series motors in open wheelers?

I've seen some hillclimb cars running 4K's which are apparently capable of sub-11 second times... However these motors are usually rebuilt every few months as they are worked to the eyeballs!!

i wanted to go to that test and tune day!! but my car wasnt 100% :( and i couldnt afford to break nething..ive got a supercharger hangin off the side of mine but id still like to see how it goes!! i rekon it would run quite quick! johnny t

i have a ke10 with heavily worked 3K u prob know it(in my sig)

did a 15.478@138kph in 2001 and I'm pretty sure its the same shit in the engine now...and its got no turbo! NA power boys! i will list the mods :)

Block - 3K & 4 mm o/s

Crank - Std, crack tested, balanced 10/10 u/s

Rods - Crack tested, polished, resized, shot peened

Pistons - Motor improvements cast 79mm high comp

Cam - Motor improvements 672-11

Inlet 51/81

Exhaust 85/45

Head - Motor improvements, ported, big valves, heavy duty valve springs, solid spacers for rockers

Flywheel - lightened & balanced

Clutch - 4 puck ceramic plate & H/D pressure plate

Brakes - BMW - (320I) discs

Suspension - King springs - Monroe Gas shocks- watts linkage rear

Roll Cage - 1/2 alloy cage

 

..oh yeah and its got twin 45 webers :)

i hope to get the most of my 4k haha 17 seconds would be fine
