boosted_gem Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on running twin 40mm delortos compared to a 350 holly on a reco 4k. I've got a port and polished head, 290 degree cam extractors and a 2 1/4 inch exhuast Just wondering which i would get more power out of Cheers nathan and yes i know this might be a bit of a noob question but couldn't find anything specifically on this topic when doing a search Quote
Xany Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 the twins for sure.... downdraft compared to sidedraft.....Sideys For the WIN! Quote
Medicine_Man Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 As Xany said, Twins for the win! Mine will be going on my soon hopefully! They atomise the fuel a lot better too!!!! Quote

mitch13 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Off topic, but Nick what does FTW mean? Quote
ToDa30/4 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 i hope I'm not too far off topic but i was going to run a single 40 dcoe in a 4k worked head & extractors & with what I'm told is nicks old cam which i bought off a forum member & local yodas tell me its to hot & wont make power due to the overlap so nicks or anyone have an opinion should i leave this cam out till i have my sc12 setup & run a 270oish cam on the na 4k till then .cheers dave Quote
madrolla68 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 It should work well with forced induction The original owner of that cam was setting the car up for Nitrous For me, with a 32/36 weber all it did was chew fuel like a bastard... Then again I never tuned it Get used to people asking if you drive a rotary... I used to get asked at LEAST once a day at traffic lights. 2.25" exhaust system is too big... go 2" MAXIMUM FWIW I think its about a 300o Cam from memory Best of luck with it, with a Supercharger you should be able to make a decent power figure out of it :y: Go the big camshaft man, I'm running over 300 degrees N/A with NOS and it loves it. Goes pretty good without it as well with the twin 40mm dellortos. Quote
ToDa30/4 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 cheers nick & madrolla68 , Ok its going in the 4k I'm building ,reckon it will be fun n/a or s/c :y: Quote
muller Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Fun for sure. Smoother airflow with the sideys and for the twins, more is better :y: Quote
