Has anyone given any thought that they might like to go to springnats?

 

I was thinking this for our next event but its almost three months away. i was thinking that we could have a trip to the nats after out next event.

 

Sort of central (for a few),

neally 3 months away so people can get some money together and get there cars up to scratch,

And its an organised event so you just have to turn up.

As for it being held over the three days i wouldnt expect everyone will go to all of them. Friday is basically just a set up day anyway. Saturday has the most activities so it will take you much longer to see it all and get bored :lock: Sunday does hold all of the finally and have a cruise but with the members coming from further out wil not like to stay late on a sunday due to work in the morning.

 

P.s. I know that clown has the same topic because he asked me to post it but i didnt realise that he did it as well. Ill get him to delete it tomorow.

Heheh my bad, flu made me a little confused and i accidently posted what we were talking about.

 

I'd say that i would be in for the saturday, more stuff to see.

Well I'm bumping this up to the top of the threads because i was thinking that this would be our next event and will pm people earlier about the idea.

In the meantime i will email as many of the 'old' vic members who have posted a couple of times and then nothing to see if i can get hold of them. Fingers crossed ;)

Sounds good Muller, would be a great day/weekend I think. Would make for a nice drive to. My only worry is police presence on the weekend... you know how loud/low my my car is, I'm sure others are in the same boat.

Personally i wouldnt take anything other than my mums stocko commodore there hubcaps and everything. If you go there you are basically guaranteed a caneri.

 

Never been to one and maybe i just hear it from the wrong people but my rolla wont be making that trip, I'm still going though. Under cover cops walk the streets booking people for drinking too, come up and ask to smell your 'coke' bottle. Stupid over policing on there behalf.

 

Youll just have to make up your own mind if its worth coming.

guys n girls, i don't mean to sound like an old fart here but i went to springnats 4 years in a row, the first time was when that kid got run over by a semi, and that year was awesome until that happened. every year after that the coppers got worse n worse. i've never seen anything like it. they :) (the cops) were canary-ing anything that had an exhaust n wheels. they were even canary-ing cars on trailers! that was the second year. it was out of control. the year after that the crowd numbers were down n i got done for drinking in public :D ($200 on the spot) people were getting canaried and epa'd due to the turbo craze. they were gettin people with a blow off valve and/or inter-cooler. the 4th year was a little better but the cops still let u feel their presence. I'm not baggin the event at all because even tho the cops were so called "doin their job" the actual event at the deca is awesome. the only reason i didn't go last year was because i entered my weekender into easternats. it is a top weekend in shepp n i would fully recommend goin but a word of advise, take a roadworthy car and behave or they'll get ya.

Sadly I wont be able to make it anymore... I am going to have the engine out of the car doing my swap, gona take up the weekend.

Sorry, i havent been on here that much.

 

Yes its still goin on and it came up quite fast actually, next weekend :wink:. I thought that since most of us are not taking rollas up there myself included there is not much point in having a rolla cruise up there or around there either for that matter.

 

So we either just pick a time and spot to meet up or we just have another bbq or something. I will be going up Saturday and don't know if i will stay there somewhere, or come home and go back again sunday. Handy when you don't live all that far away. But i will not be there friday as i can't get friday night off :)

 

Suggestions...?

I'm hoping to make the trip this year as I havent managed to get there over th 5 years I have been in Melb, looks like a great show which is well worth the run. Plus, we trim alot of the rods entered!

sounds like it would be a good event to see. have to try and find a road worthy car to get there tho. Gotta love the irony about going to a car show but not taking the risk to drive your own cars there haha.
