Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) Yes, I've finally pulled my finger out, and Bluey is on the hoist at Chateau de Wayno's. It rolled in at 1400hrs yesterday, and work started half a stubbie later. Engine and box are out, interior out, body deadener out (mostly), and a certain amount of body ugliness found. New front left guard and valence panel sourced (thanks Fook!). If people want I'll post progress pics as we go. Here's a couple to get started..... Engine out, average front end..... Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Front left guard a bit ordinary..... Quote
Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Rear right isn't pleasant either..... Quote
Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) A fair bit of ugliness on the LHS, but we'll get there. I'd like to add that my panelbeating skills aren't great, that's why my new Nav is helping (alot!)...... Edited January 10, 2005 by Redwarf Quote
trdcamrypride Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 sweet keep us updated, what exactly are you doing to it? Quote
Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 (edited) Seam weld, respray, brake upgrade, suspension upgrade, grunt upgrade, seat upgrade. Diff rebuild. That's about it. Should take a couple of weeks. Edited January 10, 2005 by Redwarf Quote
trdcamrypride Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 nice, is this because reddwarf is retired now? Quote
Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Red has been down graded to lesser duties, Red will never retire. Quote
trdcamrypride Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 fair enough good on you red. so we should see a fair bit of blue in the not to distant future, will it still be blue? Quote
Redwarf Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Rally Cars should only be one colour...... Quote
Teddy Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 i think a better phrase for the origional redwrf is a) Driver is at a point where he wont crash it to an un-saveable state b) it just doesnt want to die - its got more lives than my cat. c) its too good to just stop being used !! its the coolest corolla around :P Blue car looks great rob :) - can't wait to see it again ;) ! demuire Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 haha, one of my front guards is that funny blue color too :P I'm afraid the front beaver panel thing is that ugly mustard color though. Quote
demuire Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Hmm, that front guard looks better than the one that's ON my car at the moment (after Qld Challenge last year anyway, oops), what's actually wrong with it? Can't tell much from the photo... Beaver panel looks like it's had a few hits? :) I haven't had a good look at mine, but I think I remember it being okay. Not the best, but okay. And hmm, that rear wheel arch looks like some fun :P Maybe you should just get flares and cut all that rust out ;) Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Keep us posted rob, would love to see it come together :P Quote
