  1. Wow that is impressive, keep the updates coming. I'm keen to see how this turns out! Alec.
  2. wow man, just read through the whole thing, now i think i will go for a well built 5ke rather than a 4age cause i never wanted to put a 4age in a ke55 or ke70. just could not work out how i would EFI a k series motor but now i know. keep up the awsome work mate. Alec.

saw a white slanty front ke70 at about 4:30 ish on south road on what looked like meshies or hotwires. slamed quite low but had what looked like a paint roller paint job (but worse). Alec.
  4. hmmmmm well i think i will deffs get a ke70 first as my daily and then do a ta22 in the mean time properly and make sure everything is totally as i like. and that way it can be done at a higher quality. Alec.
  5. awsome work man, if i am ever up at the Barossa I would be keen to check it out. You Know anywhere i could pic up a decent ta22??? EDIT: where is the fuel tank in this thing???? Alec.
  6. thanks Justin. "i have both, and yeah rolla is more common and sure is easier to get parts for put even i prefer my ta22 thats why I'm rebuilding it ground up sure parts are a lil harder to come by, but how many ta22s are out there f*!k all, so ya don't need to worry bout copying the bloke down the street with style. and plus they look frickin tuff no matter what ya do to it. so my opinion is ta22 need more clean tuff 22s out there! " MattyZ, if you ever come down Adelaide way let me know, I would love to see the ta22 and have a good look, cause I am trying to find some around me but there seems to be a very slim amount. None actually. Except one when i was like a kid and that disappeared. Alec.
  7. hmmmm, well then maybe I should do both, first a ke70 budget build to get me around and have a bit of fun in and then get a ta22 and do it from the ground up..................or I could just get what ever one is up for sale when I go to buy. but overall the cost between doing the same things to both cars would not be to different, right? (conversion, rust etc.)
  8. What would be the cheaper option? I am happy to go either way. It will be my first car also. I am thinking ke70 cause ta22's are getting pretty hard to find in SA.
  9. Hi all, I have always been a ke70/ae71 fan but at heart I am a real ta22 nut. But i am having a tough choice about what to get. I would go with either of the cars and would not look back. But the issue I have is parts. I would like to get peoples oppinion on whether i should get a ta22 or ke70, based on the access to cheap and regular parts. Which do you think will be the better runner and the better car? It will be a daily and will probs do a few hill climbs and will be powered by a 4age. I would love to hear what you have to say cause it is bugging me. Any advice on making the choice would be much appreciated. Alec.
  10. Awsome, i am looking forward to it. It will give my dad a bit of an idea about what i wish to do. Then he will hopefully let me get one.
  11. Yay, has it got the original 4k or u done a conversion? Alec.
  12. dam that sucks, keep up the good work.
  13. God dam that sucks, i was looking forward to seeing some rollas. Want to learn as much as i can which means taking as many photos as i can :jamie: . Ah well it should still be good. I will see who ever is there then. Alec.

I saw a cream flat nose ke70 going down Magil road at about 4:45 and then another ke70, white with fender mirrors going up Magil road at about 5ish. Never seen that many in such a short time. Alec.
  15. oooooohhh, I like that, that makes things so easy. Thanks mate. Does anyone elso know of another easy way to get the right ignition for a carbed 4age? Alec.

Saw a white ae82 going down Portrush road by Magill road, with white wall tires. overrated as. Looked pretty cool. Alec.
  17. Yeah, i know. was thinking of doing the whole msd setup. But heard somewhere that you can use a corona dizzy and coil and mod it somehow and it should stop the whole timing advance. But got no idea how. How would you lock timing? Alec.
  18. WOW, some one else called Alec. i can't believe it. It took me 17 years of my life to find some one else called Alec. And to think it happened when i was not even trying. Anyway thanks for the links, they are very interesting but now i know my twin cam 4k is deffs never going to happen. So i think i will go with a carbed 4age. but i can not get a car til November cause parents are being a pain. Alec.
  19. Hmmmmm, Thanks for the replies, I will take it all into consideration and i think i will go with a carbed 4age, just cause i love carbs. But if a 2tg suddenly pops up out of no where all clean and working for a reasonable price with spares it is so mine. Do you guys no of a recommended importer for rwd 4age or should i get one out of a fwd rolla and rwd it. Just not to clear on how to deal with the cooling system. Have read loads of guides on loads of forums but still a bit unsure. Any advice? I think I will just check one out in person and take photos of every thing i need and then work out how i will do it. Thanks again. >| Alec.
  20. hey, I was reading some link i was sent by a friend and somehow stumbled upon this page about 4k engines with DOHC(and now i can't find it). I was wondering if anyone can verify this, cause i would very much like to have a twin cam 4k. Not sure if it was a dream or not so it would be great if someone could tell me if these beautiful things even exist. And where the hell would i get one? Alec.
  21. hi there, i plan to do and engine conversion in my ke70/ae71 when i get one towards then end of this year. but there is one issue. i have been planning to do a 4age conversion cause i thought it would be the most logical for a daily in SA(it would be carbed). i will do some hill climbs with it and actually use the engine for its power. but i read somewhere that you can drop a 2tg into a ke70/ae71 and it will be a much cheaper power gain and i am not looking for extreme power just enough to thrash a 4k and be responsive. i really like the idea of a twin cam ke70/ae71 so i was wondering if you guys could tell me if it is possible to get a 2tg into a ke70/ae71 with ease and low costs? or would it be better for me to stick with the carbed 4age? are there any other common DOHC Toyota engines that i can dump in there for a bit of fun. all help would be much apreciated. thanks alot. Alec. :no2:
  22. hmmmm.......to bad you can't be an aprentice to become a paramedic. keep us posted. Alec.
  23. wow, nice find mate. you are lucky your parents let you buy a car so soon i am 16 and can not buy a car till november this year, the rents say it will distract me from my year 11 study. hope to do a weber carbed 4age in ke70/ae71. looks like you are going to have alot of fun in this. keep up the good work. can't wait to get mine and start working on it. Alec.
  24. hmmmm....quad throttles.......i think i am going to go 4age with dual weber carbs. but i gotta get a job first to get some more cash. dam my parents and not letting me get a job sooner, and not letting me get a car until november. arrgghh. Alec.
  25. are you running carbs or EFI? I am having a bit of a slow day and can't work it out. Alec.
