  1. so it went on the dyno to see what was goin on and apparently its the gear ratios in the g/box? or the diff which i think considering its standered..the t50 should be fine right? it produced 89 HP does that sound right for a 4a rwd?
  2. so i spoke to a specialists and he thinks the tvis shouldnt effect it that much.. well all i know is i have two different computer which both plug up fine so maybe its not the 100kw one.. today i was playiong around with the vacuum lines but i couldnt find out what the vacuum is meant to be at at idle do you know? i also noticed when you rev it the timing doesnt advance properly do you klnow what it should advance to bcoz the books don't say..its very strange bcoz it all seems fine but just wont go like it should..and when you rev it there isnt flat spots.. umm the bolts matched up fine without the tvis..   3. yeh I'm running the standard computer, i have a 100kw 4a ecu also so will taking out tvis make it not run right? will it go like a piece of crap like i said? if so what would be the best option for a cheap half descent comp? and then it will require a tune yeh? che
  4. yeh i completely rebuilt the whole motor, i thought timing and adjusted that today so its spot on.. I'm thinking maybe shortening the manifold has just blown the intake out of porportion but i wouldnt of thought before that would happen. also i took out the tvis..
  5. hey guys. so iv finally got my 4age running, at first it was fluxuating at idle really bad because it was sucking to much air, so we figured out if i block the throttle body air ports it idles properly.. so then i took it for the first test drive after nearly a year of building and it goes like shit, like worse then the original 5k, which doesnt make me very happy. whgen u put your foot down it just revs out and barely goes anywhere??? has anyone had the same experience with this sort of thing? its just a standered 4age 16v completely rebuilt.. the only mods are the inlet manifold was cut and shut and shortened at the flange due to it hitting the master cylinder. thats really the only thing i can think of.. or the standard diff ratios arent right.. I'm not too sure really.. so yeh I'm in need of some help so i can drive the bloody thing. cheers :)
  6. hey guys, so iv made some progress finally.. so far i have achieved -made engine mounts and mounted engine in the car -went to measure the gearbox mount and turned out it bolt straight up to the t50 which i wasnt expecting -bought a yoke to fit g/box and that also fit right in I'm yet to install that though. also when i tried to put the manifold on which was cut and shut it didnt fit in due to hitting the master cylinder and i havent heard of that before so i had to cut the manifold to shorten it which i didnt want to do because i believe you loose power if not done right but it had to be done..also i can't use the tvis because that just adds more distance to clear with it.. and i have found out the exhaust manifold i bought hits the idler arm so not too happy about that so i moght have to pay some one to fix that problem.. also i have got all my fuel system components ready to go in the boot just have to get around to that ill post some pictures when thats done..here are some pics so far though hope yous like it :)

  9. yeh to late for that already spent 2 grand rebuilding engine and i got a t5o box which has a cable clutch and iv looked for info and found bits and other bits i can't find to help me..no offense but if u dnt want to help me then don't reply on it. besides that whats the best option for a tailshaft? output shaft is 22 spline? cheers
  10. hey everyone, so iv started my conversion and i am a bit lost on some things, what do i do for a tailshaft? is there a way to change the yoke on my old one? iv got standard diff with a cable t50 box.. i think its 22 spline. and will i have to make my own g/box mount? help would be great. cheers

  12. hey mate awesome built really insipiring. I'm currently doing the same conversion as you although not as extreme..iv got a cable t50 box and was curious what you did for the tailshaft? did u have to cut it and weld it to a shorter length? I'm using ur engine mount set up and so far so good thanks heaps.
  13. yeh its a 4age..not completely sure about future plans just getting the engine in and running for now then when i have more money i plan to lower it, get rid of the little bit of rust it has, just little bits n peices..then eventually a better diff and the turbo one day lol thanks guys thats a good boost of motovation to keep on top of getting it done tho. umm yeh when i pull it out again ill get some better photos with more light with the gauges.
