  1. You will need a bigger gun to put a dent in him fom where you are Mick! Try this one... :P JP
  2. Nice work and a big welcome to the club!
  3. I will be there, either spectating or running. The Val is up and running again woth a single carb to get her going but its far from perfect! So put me down for spectating for now! I wanna watch Tates rocket run down the strip!
  4. Head gasket didnt last... hehehe
  5. Well, I seem to have run out of money to get a set of extractors and have them split and fitted to the twin system... ahh well, I will get there eventually! I need to find a couple of w clips or something of the like to get the bloody carbs set right as well. So I will still be there either way. I may even run the Commodore again? Tell you what, I'm sick of leaving the Val at home all ready! lol
  6. ok ok, maybe mid 18's then :hmm: I can handle that! Mind you, the twin carbs made a big difference... headers should be even better! Oh, and a decent tune :jamie:
  7. Cheers Nackers. Will do. Actually, got any extractors for a slant you want to get rid off? I'm chasing a 17... lol.
  8. Hahaha, don't you love that... I was thinking about how far away this is but now I'm not sure if the Val will be ready to race! Its still in bits in the shed awaiting its new electonic dizzy and a set of headers to get rid of the backpresure problem.
  9. No problem... there great! I need to get some up! lol
  10. Well, its over again for another year! Trust me.. Mel is happy, I'm not stressing out like a madman anymore! We are very happy to hear that everyone has had a great time, Teddy nearly missed his flight out again (must remember to ask him for the bording time, not the departure time!) but I havent heard from him so I'm assuming he's ok! I personally think this year was shithouse, we had a terrible time for the most part except for everything in between 8:30am Saturday and about 3pm Monday ;) Well, next year... yes, thinking of next year already! We will be a little biggre I think, not to much bigger as we don't want to many making it dificult to control, but big enough that we have trouble finding parking for all our cars! ok, as for videos, I have a problem with Mels laptop so I havent loaded it to the computer as yet. Once I sort that out I will get cracking on it for you all. Teddy and I had a watch of it when we got back here and we had a decent amount of footage, I'm sure between Teds footage, Mine and Stu's (all 3ish minutes of it! hehe) we will be set. Again, Glad you all had a great time! I sure as hell did! Was great to see you all again and actually have a chat with Mick this year. Cheers, Jarrad and Mel.
  11. Yes yes, I can imagine.... I'm originaly from Wentworth... about 2.5hours from there. I do have family in the Hill though... thats about as close as I want to get to the place! Should be good chief. Anyhow, the run is on! I'm leaving with the missus and Teddy in about 20 minutes. Keep an eye out for pics over the weeekend! JP
  12. Well its time.. Sadly, the Val is going to be left at home thismorning. have a rather large backpressure problem in the factory cast exhaust manifold that cannot be fixed before the run (need extractors) so I'm making the smart decision... and taking the VS. Bugger... Mind you, the vals running rich as and is still heating the manifold up to the point its glowing red hot after a 5 minute stint on the freeway! Imagine it after 4 hours! :) Well, I will be seeing you all at Torquay... now I had better go pack  seriously! JP
  13. Broken hil... poor bugger! hehe
  14. lets do it! Almost ready... funny calling everyone and hearing about al of the misshaps! WIll se who makes it` tomorrow morning! Joel, only timwe we have is leaving maccas in Torquay at 9am approx... sorry mate. Ok, EVERYONE... Take down my mobile Number... 0400843198 Callo me if ou have any problems. JP
  15. Ok ok... I will put my hand up as the resident trimmer... yes, I sound so excited don't I? haha I work for Sunshine Motor Trimming... lotsa custom work involved there so its a bit of a headache! Mind you, I have a great boss so it more than makes up for it! Also, soon to be starting JP' s Speed Shop... specialising in odd speed equiptment for chev 6's and Val 6's among other odds n sods. JP
  16. Why not?? Wheres your explanation? hehe Thanks for letting us know... would be good to have you come along to one of them. Actually, you guys n gals are the first to know... Tassie will also be on the invite list next year! Why not hey?... Almost here Raven... almost!
  17. Ha, noisy hey tate??? idleing in my driveway had me in the shit mith Mel! Thats how noisy it is! LOL! A bit of rtv goo on a NEW gasket and you will be right, I had the same problem with the vals inlet manifold. Loks like everyone is getting close! Funny as watching the last minute dash... even mine! Had The Wagoon running but have had to pull one of the carbs off again to take it back and get a new mixture screw and sleeve put in... wasnt working properly so its running rich as! Just need filters! Anyway, we will all be meeting rather soon. I need to know who was planning to meet at the ring rd meet point? if noone was planning to meet there then we will make the meet point in torquay the first. I will be meeting up with people in torquay as I will be doubling back otherwise... that costs to much! The first Maccas on the way into Torquay (i think its on the right beside some shops... butI can't remember...) will be the meet point. I'm sorry its a bit vague but its all I can do as I havent made a trip out there yet. I should be there about 8 to 8:15am... Meet time at torquay is 8:30am and leaving at 9am (hopefully). can't wait to see you all there! JP.
  18. Almost here! I'm having trouble getting shit for the goodies bag... and the sticker guy jusst pulled out on me... well.... we wil see what happens! AND, the Vals is still off the road... but its running and almost ready for a drive! yeeehar!
  19. Thankyou very muchly! Anyone else coming? We have a fair group but would aways like more! This is going to be a great weekend but you only have a couple of weeks left! Jarrad
  20. Hmmm... I think I'm gonna be in trouble then... Cam pointed out to me that I should now be aiming for an 18.8 s quater... hehehe These should help! Oh, the ones in the rear are for my mates '55 Chev... I don't need 4! JP
  21. haha, i didnt read it properly when I posted! I meant the 7k is wider... ahh well... Hope you fix that bloody red rocket Tate! Sounded horne leaving my place!
  22. Sounds good... if you guys n gals could jump on that ine that would be good. We would be able to meet you in Torquay at 8:30ish... www.whereis.com.au predicts 45 mins to get you from queenscliff to Torquay, its usually pretty accurate so we will go with it! Ok, I will sort out what time we will need to leave from the other meet points and go from there. Also, after having a chat with some members I will most likely be meeting up with you all at Torquay as well... saves me a tank of juice! JP
  23. Dunno about that! They are a stack wider in the block... but you have to know what your looking at. PLus, there a pain in the arse to get in from what I have read of people doing it
  24. Good to here its all sorted Shane! Sorry I havent replied to PM's from everyone, especially in reguards to the deposits made. I have lost my internet banking key so I ordered a new one... have had it sorted out now so I can check to make sure everything is going well. Also, I'm back at work... yay *cough*... so time has become tight again. Ok, as for stopovers. We will most likely be making stops in Lorne, Apollo Bay, the 12 appostles (or we could do a run back there on Sunday? not sure how far it is) or warnambool and then stopping at our destination, Portland. The trip is a fairly decent one this year, it will take a fair amount of time, somewhere in the 6 hour region! A bit bigger than last year! Therefore we cannot aford to make to many stops as we will run out of time. Our other stops/pickup points will be as follows. First meet point will be the Western Ring Road INBOUND service centre/maccas as per last year. Second meet point will most likely be in Toruay where the main group will meet up with the crew on the ferry. There may also be a need for another meet point in Geeeeeelong to catch up with the Bacchus Marsh Mob and the Ballarat guys as well, this will have to be discussed very soon. Its probably going to be easier to keep the meet points down to the two. Stu and Leero (and others making the trip over on the Ferry), can you find out what times you can take the ferry over and let me know? We need to get away pretty early and this will depend on when you guys can get over to Queenscliff. Alrighty then, I should be getting my twin Carbs this Sunday... either SU's if we can find a decent set on a jag or I will be going for the twin holden 6 strommies... a little less fuel economy there but it will be better than what I have! Hopefully the SU's will be the go as I have just finished cleaning the manifold up! All done for now, JP
  25. nah... don't need any of that. Rung what you brung and hope you brung enuf! I ran the twinky with everything removed from the boot... just make sure you have a radiator overflow, battery hold down and that the car is generally safe and leak free... so no major oil leaks that can't be wiped away before the inspect it and after every run. Also, long sleevs and pants are manditory... don't try to stage with your sleevs folled up because they tell you off (hehe) and a helmet that isnt 20 years old and full of dents... basically a decent helmet (like a motorbike one) will do the trick.. I have to se if they will let my one through. Thats pretty much it, its only $49 to race and 20 (i think( to spectate... for another $10 you can park your car in the pits if you don't race (good for people who have gear to store, wheels etc). I'm in for the feb date, sounds good. JP
