  1. At least were not eating in Geelong... if they win again it will be crazier than last year over there!
  2. Mr Tate, whats going on??? Are we meeting up tomorrow night or are we crackin Saturday?
  3. Cheers for the heads up... will get onto it as soon as I have some time. Wagoons almost trimmed then things will be back to normal. JP
  4. And some new pics... bout time! More to come!
  5. 20 is all good... shotgun for me! Whats everyine think about a meet up? especially our quest??
  6. Wont be making this one crew, is a bit much for my budget whilst I'm in the middle of triming my car. Hope all goes well and we all expect pics! JP
  7. Hahaha, Tate and Jarrad (ahh, me) were quite happy to be there. don't forget to have a look at the Great Ocean Rd thread and let me know what you think. There are a couple more in the previous topics from the last couple of years too. Look forward to the next meet, JP
  8. I don't think I wil have the wags at home as I'm still re trimming it... that makes me in for the bench racing but no cruise. JP
  9. Time to bring out the gloves! Will be there for the next meet... and will send the G'days of the redwarf to Van over a bourbon and a counter meal! JP
  10. Tate managed to get another boat joke in... nice work! And, I think 8 tanks is a bit on the conservative side! $450 MAXX is just that, the maximum cost. It shouldnt really cost you that much but if it has I hope you have had one hell of a weekend!!!! Well, that really depends on what you like to spend your money on. The accomodation cost will always be cheap, we camp for that reason. If you have all of your camping gear then it will not cost you anymore but if you don't have anything you will have to factor a tent etc into your costs. Fuel will be dependant on your car but as Tate has said it will be pretty cheap for everyone bar myself! One morning breaky will be included in the cost for the weekend (that includes the breaky, accomodation and helps with the goodies bags and awards) but the rest will be up to you. You can buy up big and share with some mates or get out and about and buy pub meals all you like, completely up to you. Mind you, we will most likely have one big night out which will include a meal and drinks etc so this has to be accounted for. There will be plenty more info for everyone as we go, so keep an eye out for updates.
  11. Calder is a good idea but they are currently behind in there new track works, it was supposed to be reopening this Sunday with an all new format with day racing etc but has been postponed. SO the short answer is yes, racing still happens through winter! As for a mini cruise, how about a mini meet/bench racing session for dinner in Lygon street on a thursday through saturday night? This is one of the most known Melbourne places and gives a centralish meet point for everyone. Also, gives a good departure point for a run around the subburbs afterwards if it is deemed needed. Just my thoughts, and also, would be good to meet another Rollacluber from SA... and twist your arm til you decide to come on the GOR trip! JP
  12. Just letting you know I havent forgotten you lot over here! Hopefully the new ideas getting thrown around in the Vic section will suit the SA crew much beter and also get us all doing the GOR together for a day trip. Take a look and let us know what you think! And Mick, cheers for your ideas etc so far... been good! JP
  13. Alright, check this out! A week of working late on the wags and no net access and we have a fair bit going on here! The Port Fairy idea is great, was a place I had looked at and have been to as they have a big rod run there every year. I will be getting to accomodation soon! As for travel, running inland to Port Fairy and then cruising the GOR to Lorne for a day trip and back with the SA crew would be great, then back either inland or on the GOR to Melb at the end. As per Tate, brain fade has settled in after a week of very late nights! Will get back to you all on accomodation. Cheers for the research Tate, you didnt let me down! JP
  14. Rather than make a complete post for this, next time you should send the member your chasing a PM and go from there. Much easier. Good luck with the car. JP
  15. Cheers Adam, This is a great meet with a good bunch of people and a pretty decent meal at the Bell! I would be coming along with a couple of others for this meet but will have to make the next one, some of the members are interested in coming on the Great Ocean Rd meet so they will all be getting a formal invite. Thankyou for the invite, I hope some more of our members tag along for a good night and join the club! Jarrad
  16. CB's would be a great idea. We have done pretty well without them but I will personally have acouple this run... much easier to keep track of everyone. SeptemberSquall, cheers for the info from the Toymods run. Was good to have a look at another run made down the Ocean Rd. Need some more feedback from ohters round here! Muller, are you coming this time? you missed the first one! JP
  17. I'm with Teddy... thats the two latest (or was that three?) Zooms with rollas. Nice JP
  18. Alrighty, reason Apollo bay was thought of once again was Raven wanting to do the ocean rd again. Not pointing the finger in a bad way, just giving reason for the idea. Mick, how much of the ocean rd would you like to do again? Portland was good, it gave us a cool day trip to the beach and other sites, had the carnival for us all and has some pretty good places to eat etc... and had great mugs at the pub to, I have one! Only things I personally have against Portland would have to be no surf... not that I would surf but it makes for alot more fun in the water, no close (walking distance) beaches for us all either so no beach babes to look at :eatlead: Also, The SA crew didnt see any of the ocean rd at all which was a shame, it is the Great Ocean rd cruise after all! SeptemberSquall, would much appreciate a link to your run if there is one? Would be great to get a look at another GOR run that has gone down well. We easily managed Portland in a day so Port Campbell would be easy as you say. I'm pretty sure all of the Vic members are more than happy to make more of a trip, we had a ball along the way! Teddy, nice work on Google earth! Whats does everyone think? I would love for everyone to throw up there throughts, would be much easier! Cheers, JP
  19. Nice, looking good. Just updated the Vic section... take a look. JP
  20. Alrighty everyone, how are we all? I have been chatting to a few fellow members and other people around the place and have a couple of ideas for places to stay. The main one would have to be Apollo Bay again. This was a great spot with good beaches, a saturday morning market, the GOR must... the carnival, and lastly but certainly not least it has some pretty good pubs for our bench racing sessions! Accomodation wise I have been searching around the place for somewhere to stay and always came back to the place we stayed last year. The name of the place I can't remember but I will check the old posts for it. All of the other places to stay are either further away from town or they are Vans and cabins only with little room for us all... one is even in the middle of town but it not for us I don't think... I will get back in contact with the owners of the place to see if they would still be interested as they were very happy with us last time. Apollo bay would also give the SA members a chance to do the ocean rd again and gives us a good sopt to take day trips from eyc. There is a couple of decent touristy drives through the rain forrests twisties that take from 2 to 3 hours if thats something we would like to do. Also, accomodation wise I would try to make sure we don't end up on the edge of the oval again! ANother place to stay would be Lorne. Much closer to Melbourne it is a big tourist spot and has some great beaches nearby but with the good stuff comes the bad stuff. Accomodation is hard to get into but would be good once were in, it is also more expensive. That said, it would be a pretty cool place to stay but it does cut our drive down to next to nothing and that kind of defeats the point. Port Campbell is also on the list. I don't have a great deal of info on this place although I know it is a smaller town of about 2500 people yet has some pretty nice places around it etc. WIll get back to you all on this place. Ok, thats some of my stuff for you, what do you all have? JP
  21. Jeez mate.. your throwin a bloody good trip up but no takers? Would love to help you out but the missus has me chained to the dishes for the day... JP
  22. Well, it turns out I have problems as well that cannot be overcome for the weekend. Appologies to Johno and all involved as I wont be able to make it. I hope it all goies very well, keep us updated! JP
  23. Nice work on the pics Simon, thanks very much. Just made them all a little easier for everyone to get through. Cheers, JP
  24. Shower there will be, don't have to worry about that. We wont be camping in a padock as such, we will always be in a proper caravan park with all facilities. Will be close to town to make it easier to get back to bed after a night out etc etc. Make sure you check out the other two threads from the previous years to give you an idea. JP
  25. Ok, where are you from chief? What I should say here is that most of the info etc wil be in the Vic section. Any questions etc should probably be thrown in there to keep this thread from cluttering the Auto discussion... if it gets to that! Glad theres a bit more interest! JP
