  1. where can i order bike carb for toyota cotolla ke70

  2. I couldn't find Tommy's build thread. So at the moment I'm waiting for my dad to have a day off so we can go visit his friend who is a carb specialist. See what I need besides carbs for it. I have a fabricator mate making me a manifold for material cost (woo) and another friend who is a motorbike specialist who can jet and set up the carbies properly. One major worry is the throttle linkage/accelerator cable? Can stock be used or do I have to do something else. As for supporting mods I'm thinking just a very mild work I've got headers and a 2" system lined up and I'll probably get it cammed. I'm not looking to make a monster engine just something that drives smooth makes a bit more power then stock and sounds nice. Any other suggestions to help me out would be nice
  3. If decided to bike carb my 4k because at the end of the day its just a ke70 if I wanted power I would of got a different car with a quick motor not relying on a motor swap. So just asking people who have done it before what do I need? What carbs should I get? Seen r1 used alot I can get a custom manifold made for super cheap. Will my accelerator cable work or will it have to be custom or something? Cheers in advance
  4. What specifically is not worth it? Not enough power? Cost too much? Hard to maintain? Cheers for the reply
  5. After a while of thinking/working out budgets/how much time I can have the car off the road I've landed on the conclusion that 4age or anyother motor swap is out of the price range and would have the car off the road too long. So I've seen some videos of bike carbied 4k motors. Just seeing if anyone here has done it? Suggestions on bike carbs? Supporting mods? Is it worth doing? I had a quick look and bike carbs seem to be cheaper then twin side drafts.
  6. hey dave, i tried to upload a photo when i posted this but my phone wouldn't let me but i'm at the computer now, so car is currently sitting like this which I like the hight of maybe a slight bit lower but no crazy tire tucking. at the moment i don't have any real budget sorted out for how much i want to spend but i'm looking around the 500 dollar max mark for it. as i said it's only just a budget little daily for now i just want it to handle better then it does now
  7. So guys recently I got my hands on another ke of course being such an old car there are things that need attention. First off is the suspension currently running leaking stock shocks and cut springs. And drives like crap especially when going over bumps which I found out when I jacked the car up to do some work is because the spring is cut so much that when no weight is on the car the spring moves freely safe to say it's dangerous and soon want to change. I've sorced full stock ke suspension for cheap but I still want the low. I don't want to opt for coilovers as they would cost as much as I got the car for and I don't want to run illegal choppies so I was wondering if anyone has photos of their car on low kingsprings or pedders etc and how much they cost and any feed back on the ride cheers
  8. So a few days ago I got myself another ke70. The first issue is the botch job of an exhaust it has currently extractors welded to what I think is between 1.75" and 2" not stock centre muffler more piping over the diff then stops. The dude I got it off says when he got it it had twin drift pipes that ended up being ripped off by a spoon drain. So Basically need to get a new exhaust hoping to save the extractors as they are decent any suggestions of exhaust mufflers anything. I'd like a nice tone nothing too loud I like the styling off drift pipes but not the straight through lack off mufflers. So something preferably louder then stock nice note if I can have a drift pipe style for example 2" centre muffler 2" to rear muffler mounted further back and some blast pipes. But I'm unsure what setup would work best with a 4k so help me out. Also where is good and cheap for this stuff in Adelaide cheers
  9. Hey guys, I'm getting pretty bored of the hassle free life of owning a reliable economical fwd hatchback and I am tempted to buy a ke70 again. I have a basic full list of things i want to do i'd just like to get opinions on which parts to use so hopefully you guys will share some stories of the parts you've used and effectiveness etc. So basically this is in mind for my build (also keeping in mind money isn't a major factor but would preferably like to keep the build cost to a minimum. I'd hope to get a corolla with a 4a-c I'd like to get a lumpy cam to make it have some more torque (any opinions of parts you've used) extractors and exhaust system (opinions on parts and size) some sort of twin side draft carb setup (opinions) maybe a port and polished head And lowered fairly low (opinions on setups of springs/coilovers) And really anything else anyone can think of to make the car better would be helpful :) Also i'm interested in getting roof racks for it as it would be my daily drive and more space to put shit the better. I'm after a particular style of roof rack the old school basket style often found on old pajeros and other 4x4s etc. Really the most help i could get on this the better. the only ke70 i've owned was already 4age'd when i got it so i'm fairly new to the modifications of the standard 4k and 4a-c engine. Thanks heaps, Claudio
  10. Hey guys. i'm looking to re join the corolla owners community  only having owned a 4age powered ke70 my knowledge of 4k and 4ac motors are very very limited. I was just wondering does anyone know ways of pushing out more power from these motors with out weird draw through carby turbo setups? (can't drive turbos due to S.A laws :() obviously i'm not expecting to bolt on a better carby and get an extra 1000 rwkw. but anything that would make the car have a bit more power and torque. if you could help in anyway by telling me what mods i could do. where to buy these parts from and how much money i'm looking at spending for these parts etc. as much help as possible would be awesome because as i said i'm a 4k and 4ac virgin and know nothing about these motors all i do know is that i won't be going very fast lol. cheers in advance Clouds
  11. I got JDM model tail lights, front and rear chrome bumpers, the black plastic ends for the bumpers and front indicator lights and it was about $340 delivered to my house. they were delivered within 10 days of the date shipped. I recommend you give him a sus if you're after bumpers yangzeen is his user name on rolla
  12. Recently perchased chrome bumpers for my corolla off kay parts. I received the bumpers with no mounting brackets. test fitted them over the stock mounting brackets on the car (was planning to just make brackets on the bumpers) front sits fine but the rear bumper has about 2-3 cm gap between the body and the bumper. If anyone has made custom brackets for chrome bumpers it would be alot of help if you could give me some ideas of how to fit them. cheers
  13. PM'd you my number ae71 is alright, body is in primer has s13 stockies and would need the gearbox replaced as it has no reverse. just orded chrome bumpers and tail lights from kay parts. I'll send you photos of it if you like
  14. i have a 4age ae71, keen to see pics of the 31
  15. So finally getting my corolla painted currently in primer and finishing off some body work. basically just need some ideas of paint jobs! so far all i have thought of is White but i think it would be to plain/common, orange which might be to over the top, Gun metal gray (yet to find a decent looking one with out quad lights) or Midnight blue which looks pretty sweet! if anyone has any ideas for paint colours! please let me know it would be good to get some opinions :y:
