  7. Diesel is also good for faded paint, I have done it cos I didnt belive it and sure enough it works, I didnt buff it I just wiped it on, aparently it comes up better if you buff it. Just soak a rag and wipe on. :hmm:

  9. Hi, I have had quite a bit of experience with this carbie, my ex had one on her MK1 2door escort 2 litre that i built up for her. same drama's as you. best thing to do is to find some mechanic that is really clued up on these types of carbies or go to a carbie exchange joint, or if your confidant, grab a carbie kit and do it your self, I put 4 kits in the one on the escort untill I had enough and completly stripped the carb down untill there was nothing more that could come off it, usually there are a few little clips or 'o' rings left over, not the last time. I used every last bit of the kit and it fixed the problem, hard starting when hot, rough idle, running on sometimes. so see how you go and report back Cheers Shane
  10. GREAT GAME!!! QLD derserved to to win with all the effort that they put after all the injuries that left them with 1 reserve. the first tackle in the first 5 seconds took out the first QLD player, awesome game played by all unfortunatly QLD were just worn out by the end, having no reserves but they put up a dam good fight, so many almost trys for the blues.
  11. Hi, guys. I had a lot of trouble setting up my webbers as well, same thing popping and carring on. and yea they do have secondary venturies, I have replaced mine with smaller ones for higher air speed not volume which was another problem I had. anyway about the popping, if the valves are good, and you will tell straight away by a compression test ( make sure for the test you keep a wide open throttle at all times), my carbies were popping due to the twin carbs being out of ballance with each other... Very tricky to set up (especially if ya not to sure what your doing, like I was) once they were ballanced all was good, new main venturies, secondary venturies, emoultion tubes, main jets, air bleed jets, almost everything. but it was worth it. I have been complemented on how well it goes for a 2 litre and they are supprised when I tell them it is only a 1.2 litre.... ;)
  12. i hate to ask but I am a QLD supporter that didnt see the end of the game... What was the final score???
  13. each to there own but I have mostly snap-on gear as I am a mechanic and I am using them all the time. I am starting to get cheaper tools in at the moment cos I have moved town and there is no snap-on rep here. I like the feel and finish on them and the square handles on the screwdrivers are so much easier on the hands and give more torque when needed. like I said each to there own but thats what I have ;)
  14. Ok, before I go and buy the wrong strut insert, can someone please measure for me the dimentions of the Ke2/3/5x strue insert, Diameter, and overall length of the outer housing. ROL-110, you said you have a heap layin around, just these two measurements is all i need just so the car is not off the road in peices for to long, I can het everything organised before I pull it apart. Cheers all, the help has been great.
  15. So if I am looking at that correctly, the blue insert is the Ke2/3/5x type and the one in 3 peices at the bottom is the original oil filled insert? If this is the case, I already have the Ke2/3/5x inserts as my inserts look like the blue gas insert, BUT when I pulled them apart, they did not have the 1" spacer on top, can this mean that I have the Ke2/3/5x struts already in the car??? I have not had the car very long?? Thanks heaps Felix
  16. I have almost exhausted syspension shops in Perth, then suspension shops that they may know of, to try and source a set of shockies for the front of my Ke11, the shops that I talk to have said that they are different to the Ke20 and onwards. Does any body know where I can get hold of some??? Or maybe what insert may fit? Cheers all, Rusty
  17. Did that, it said that the files are missing?
  18. pics didnt work :P
  19. I have just fitted a set of 40 mm DCOE webers to a 3K in a Ke11 corolla, Problem being that the air cleaners wont fit on the carbs due to being to close to the strut tower. Has anybody done this before?? is so how do I go about getting around it??? deforming the strut tower, manufacture different air box type setup?? I'm stuck, any Ideas?? Cheers
  20. Cheers, Thanks heaps guys, I will post pics soon
  21. I am in need of tension settings for the bigend bearings and the main bearings for a 3K eng. If someone has a book with tension settings in it could you please post a pic of it in here so I can print it out. Many Thanks to all those that may help. Cheers Rusty

  23. Hi, I am in the process of rebuilding my 3K-B engine out of my KE10, none of the pistons, main bearings or big end bearings has any markings on then to say that they are not standard. can anybody please help me in getting some standard crankshaft specifications so when I measure the crank I will be able to tell what sizes I need to order. Cheers and thanks in advance. Rusty

This is the only pic I have of my KE10 so far as I have only just got it. The engine will be out soon for a rebuild. I got it for $500 of a lady that owned it for 27 years, it even hav aircon  and NO rust. Oh I got the cerbies seperate to the car. they are twin dual throat side draft 40mm DCOE webers on manifold for the low price of $200.
