  1. HEY GUYS thanks all for your replies but i shall no longer be needing that pedal box as ive just picked up an AE71 SPRINT for $350!!!!! As soon as i got it home right away i got stuck into removing that GOLD pedal box and there was this one little bolt up the top that was a REAL PITA to get to and finally when i did remove it and hold it in my hands it was a good feeling to have finally found one i simply had to buy a complete corolla to get one .This car is well beyond considering getting on the road as there is RUST RUST AND MORE RUST just about everywhere one looks so i will be parting it out soon in the vehicles wrecking section , the motor is ʞ©$ɟed but apart from the pedal box its all there CHEERS
  2. Has anybody tried a converted T18 pedal box apparently there is little modding to do to make them fit and work well and they seem to be more readily avaliable compared to those GOLD ae71 hydro pedal boxes
  3. Its all begining to sound a bit to difficult (for me that is) that must be why ae71 hydro pedal boxes fetch premium prices , i think SQ ENGINEERING is in the process of fabbing these up ?
  4. HEY ALL ive given up searching for that impossible to find AE71 HYDRUALIC PEDAL BOX and have decided to fab one up myself by converting my ke70 cable one to hydrualic . It can't be that hard to do by the looks of this all i have to do is drill a hole on the clutch pedal for the master push rod but from what i can gather from looking at pics of the ae71 hydro unit there appears to be a bracket on it with the 2 small bolt holes and the large hole for the clutch master cylnder. THIS SEEMS HARD TO MAKE would it be ok just to mount master to firewall or what i was thinking is to cut out the area around the mastercylnder firewall from a wreck then weld it inside to give firewall a little extra strength then drill the holes for the slave but what is confusing me is it appears that the ae71 clutch pedal runs on the LHS of the steering colum.Just one more thing if some body has an original AE71 pedal box in their rolla i need to know the distance from the clutch pedal pivot bolt to the clutch master push rod bolt THANKS ALL
  5. As far as i know nothing is avaliable for ke70 / ae71 from toyota anylonger except gaskets and maybe rad hoses ,spare parts bloke told me not even tie rods and ball joints are avaliable
  6. HEY whats the art of shifting T50 gears quickly ??????????
  7. HEY BUD google KILLING COROLLA GEARBOX this bloke is running a twin charged 4age in his ae86 , id love my car to have that same power !!!!!!
  8. HEY BUD is that 4agze crank the same as the 20 valve CHEERS
  9. HI ALL my ke70 body is being dipped at the moment then treated to hopefully prevent future rust occuring just wanted to ask your oppinion on seam welding or double spot welding a road going 20 valve ke70 . had planned on fitting a strut bar and for the rear end i did not want any bars inside of the boot but ive read elsewhere that by fitting a towbar it really stiffens up the rear end ? also whats your thoughts on those ultra racing under guard braces . any help will be greatly appreciated CHEERS
  10. HI ALL i am building my ke70 for street use with the 20 valve / t50 / t series i am in the process of purchacing parts for my build and ive just got some questions i would be really pleased if somebody could take the time to answer . what type of shocker/ spring / steering are you guys using and or recomend . i am leaning towards the ae86 adjustable struts with cusco tops as there seems to be a huge amount of springs and shocks avaliable if i go this route what kg springs work best for road going rollas and do i really need adjustable shockers i am planing on fitting adjustable rear spring platforms if they are legal ? and a tower brace (TOWER TO TOWER NOT THE TRI FIREWALL STYLE). For the rear end i don't want any intrusions/ bars inside of the boot but i read somewhere that by fitting a towbar it really stiffens up the rear end ? Another option is seam welding if its legal of course it may affect crumple zone i read somewhere else and maybe those ultraracing inner guard braces. also thinking about ae86 shorter power steering arms to make the steering more direct but will the stock ke70 tie rods be ok length wise for these arms. Another route i could go is an expensive QAUIFE QUICK RACK FROM THE UK has anybody used this with the ae86 shorter arms ? . iam thinking about fitting FULL nolathane bushes to every suspention joint or is anyone running rose joint rear links and front control arms and those metal bushed castor bars would these be to rigid and cause chassis to CRACK ? i am not at all concerned about comfort i just want it to handle the best it can possibly get for the road have not decided yet on wheel size iether 14x7 ma61 with 185 60 or lower profile or maybe 15s. just out of curiosity with front end alighnment settings generally how much negative camber would be ok and i spoke to a front end tech today about castor but would like your opinion on what castor works best for your road going corollas eg : maximum positive or the lowest positive . i will post pics of my build soon the body is currently being dipped to remove all paint and little bits of rust here and then it will be treated to prevent any future rust happening so basically its a full ground up resto job using as much brand new parts as possible i made the decition to restore my corolla becouse i really love them for their looks and being rear wheel drive.... THANKS ALL
  11. HEY FELLAS when i rebuilt the rack outa my ke70 i fitted heavy duty thick walled boots which i got from repco they are a repco part and the same quality as original toyota which have been discontinued also fitted the superpro brand nolathane rack mount bushes i got from autobarn
  12. GEEZ THANKS GUYS this forum to me is a wealth of information who better to ask than people who have " been there and done that " it will save me a lot of time and money experimenting anyway the 3.9 idea i have chucked and now leaning towards 4.1 / 4.3 / 4.5 . i don't want a locker diff but would like to know if the ae86 factory lsd will be fine and i have one more question are all 3 of these ratios still avaliable NEW from somewhere THANKS AGAIN ALL

    Ae71 Csx

HEY MATE congratulations on finding such a clean csx , original low kilometer examples like yours are VERY HARD to come by nowdays i know becouse ive been looking for some time now . Personally i would not modify it in anyway that i could never return to original. May i ask what you picked this gem up for ?
  14. HI ALL i am in the process of converting my ke70 to 20 valve black top . Currently i am purchacing bits and pieces for the build and will be using all SQ ENGINEERING parts for the 20 valve conversion . The way i would like to go about it is to use as much toyota factory bolt on parts as possible and to have it looking as if it came from the factory that way . I need an efi fuel tank and will the ae86 efi tank bolt directly into my ke70 and would the original ae86 in tank fuel pump be ok for the 20 valve or could a better type be made to fit inside of the tank ? .I have decided to go with the AE71 T50 5 speed along with a JDM RHS slave cylnder bell housing then i will run a braided line directly from the mastercylnder to the slave this way it will be opposite the hot extractors but need to know if the AE71 T50 LHS clutch fork + slave cylnder + fork dust boot is the same as the JDM. For road use is the stock t50 gearing ok for the 20 valve or would an expensive close ratio gear set work better ? i intend to run the 3.89 or closest diff ratio avaliable in the t series ae86 factory disk braked lsd diff so i will have the same overdrive as the ae71 /4a / t50 sprint i recently sold . Finally does the ae86 diff housig use the same sway bar mounting points / brackets as the ke70 THANKYOU ALL FOR READING AND REPLYING TO MY POST
  15. Happy to hear you got your car back in the same cond minus the fuel but sadly this was not the case for me . a little trick i do when leaving my rolla unattended is to remove the rotor button from the distributor as well as fitting kill switches to earth the coil and cut power off to the starter motor solenoid all this may slow the theif down but can still be bypassed by a smart theif running a wire from positive battery post to the distributor and then to the starter solenoid to get your motor started also steering wheel locks can be easilly removed they can iether cut the thin metal rim inside of the steering wheel with a mini hacksaw then pull the lock off or smash something into the lock to turn it i always face the lock towards the floor which may make it harder i hope . just one more thing i would like to add is fit new door and ignition barrels as your old ones will be so worn that any key may fit in and turn it
  16. GDAY ALL i am in the process of converting my ke70 to blacktop 20 valve and would prefer factory ae86 4 w disk bolt on brake system as it will require less engineering and i would very much like to keep it toyota parts etc . what i need to know is the ae86 t series disk braked diff the same wigth as the original ke70 what i mean will my 14 x 7 ma61 wheels sit further out then rub the guards also will the ae86 rear disks/ calipers fit inside my 14 inch wheels , do the ae86 rear calipers use a caliper handbrake set up or an internal disk handbrake set up (like a commodore), are ae86 rear disks vented ,will it be ok to use the original ke70 booster to run these brakes and do i need to fit a larger bore mastercylnder . any replies would be very much apreciated .thanks for looking
