hey guys iv got a 4age 20v (silvertop). my timing belt is almost done for. so i need to replace it. however the pully system is marked incorrectly (when i got it dyno'd it said 40 degrees out) when that is impossible to run without blowing as the tuner said.... so when replacing the timing belt how do i do so correctly, also if i replace the whole pully system how can i Remark the right degree'z etc ! its the blue wire which powers the fuel pump, bypassed the relay putting a wire from that one to the red/white wire which starts it, it runs the fuel pump constantly so when i stop driving i just unplug the bypass wire. my sparky mate is gna come fix it this week sometime. atleast i know what is wrong now ! haha

found out the issue, i jump started the fuelpump relay, i get 40PSI fuel pressure and the car starts. faulty wiring to the relay. thanks everyone for the input and i hope this helps someone down the line :) Cheers Owen

right, back to square one haha it wont start again... i used the multimeter to check the ecu plugs, the fuel relay pin lights up but bairly where as the otherones light up instantly and nice and bright.... does this mean it is the relay wiring or is it meant to be like that ?

yeh thats what i thought :/ unless there was a block somewhere and it got pushed through ? I'm gna run rail cleaner through it at a mates workshop when i get a day off work.. hopefully its nothing major !

^ are you for real, read the thread i thought that was ʞ©$ɟed so i replaced it cost me 160bucks :( its weird iv tried starting like 10times since i put the gauge in and it starts every time :/ this is weird...

the fuel pressure gauge that u had in didnt work when i got the car off that irish dude... and the intank and external pumps were replaced a few months ago...

fuel is less than a week old. fuel is about 3/4 timing is fine havnt touched it since the dyno 6months ago or so, no sensors are fualty checked every wire in the car with a testerlight and multimeter. now here is the ʞ©$ɟing weird bit... i went and got a fuel pressure gauge to check if I'm getting enough pressure from the pump through the lines... its reading 40psi and once i fitted it.. she starts !! ??? !!! WHAT THE ʞ©$ɟ?? i don't know if its fixed or its randomly working and will die soon...

used a test light it flashes when cranking on the injectors....... this sucks :(

yeh i checked with a multimeter, ill get a LED light 2mrw. but yeh i got them tested etc and they were fine... but yeh its a tricky one

well it was idling around 1.2k and yeh i have that tap. and no i don't have the timing light :( what were you thinking ?

yeh injectors are fine. i looked for a kinked line, nothing :( and nah didnt manage to get a fuel filter as the slut wont start :( hahaha i checked the rail, there is fuel there the injectors are working so the fuel is getting past the injectors and then i don't know :( unless there is low pressure in the rail therefore the injectors arent pushing fuel through.... and yeh i just pulled out the 1 injector and there was fuel so we decided to start it without 1 injector and it did for about 2 seconds then died... so thats 3 cylinders ... i tried it again this arvo and it didnt start....i checked all the vacuum hoses, nothing is blocked there as far as i can see so yeh :/... I'm so lost :( haha

ok guys, checked it all the wiring etc is fine, everything is pusling, however, when i took out 1 injector the rail had fuel in it, i tried starting without 1 injector plugged in and it started. so I'm thinking there is something blocked so its not getting pressure, as with the injector out it had ambi pressure....

getting mates multimeter 2night when he finishes work ill use that :) as for now i am still lost hahaha. just like a woman, can't live without em can't live with em :( hahaha will update as soon as i get the multimeter :)

i don't think it is the rail coz i pulled out the hose on the other end and fuel pisses out :(

update, took the sparks out they are dry as fk :( so defs not getting fuel, the rail gets fuel but its not getting through. borrowing a mates multimeter to check the injector plugs this evening !
