  1. Yeah photos will be great. I've manged to source a ke30 manual cross member/mount thanks to a helpfull folower to bolt everything up. So hopefully all goes well in that regard!. I'm getting the car this coming Thursday and hopefully will be a 5k 5speed by Monday ;)
  2. So lemme get this straight. -ke70 bolt up awesome. -ke55 k50/40 space down, holes line up all cool but definately have to move the selector hole? I trust you and info with out foggyness is awesome can I get Some one to confirm all of this?? Spacing down is for tailshaft angle but lowering rear will do the same thing. Yeah I figures inhibitor switch may cause a few situations.
  3. Ok first up, straight away, I know you forums have a search function and google works well AND people have done it in their build. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR THE LAST 4 HOURS. All I have come up with is a lot of conflicting and not very helpful info. I'm about to buy a ke30 auto (definately!). Now It has a later 3 speed which seems to be the problematic one. I have both ke55 5 speed and 4 speed but that's irrelevant. Now I know you have to cut the tunnel for the selector. Or you get a ke70 5 speed. What I want to know it what is what is the go with the xmember?? If I use the k40/50 what do I need to do? (Xmember wise) If I use a ke70 5apeed what do I need to do? Every thing is vague and only says weld it ora don't use this one or that one. I wouldn't post here if I could find it else where so any help for a struggling brother would be great! Or at least a link to somewhere that clearly points out what can't go with what and what works. I could wing it but I want to know what I'm in for... Thanks
  4. ok i get what your all saying and i do know all this but sometimes it helps if you use the right timing mark -.- thanks all for your help! no doubt now i will be the laughing stock of my workshop :( hah
  5. its a breaker point dizzy from a 4k everything is gaped correctly don't want to seem argumentative but a car should start on 0, it is a bit too late, but should work i've never had troubles its just an easy base line and then i can tune away once its running....... but that hasn't happened yet :( but the dizzy only really goes in one way....? unless you mean lobes? not exactly sure what your saying here.

OK the timing mark hasn't flashed at all (no timing light!) but is set in an area where it should fire (0) i set the last 5k i built (for a mate) to 10 but it just ran like a bucket up high so we went back to 5 and it worked alot better! haven't checked compression. but it has new rings installed 100% correctly so i doubt that's the issue (sorry to be cocky) i checked them with ignition on and spinning the dizzy. ill try and do the hand choking method tomorrow and will get back to you on all of this.
  7. Ok so my dizzy timimg is now 100% correct. I have spark on every cylinder the carby works as it should. The car cranks a bit slow then builds up (I believe that's the hydro lifters) I remember the cam timing is 100%. What am I missing??!!? Pulling my hair out here and i need it started ASAP!!
  8. ok timing was wrong. fixed it but still no start!! I'm at the point of throwing the 5k in the bin!!!!!! HELP!
  9. yeah thought it may be 180 as its backfiring making one hell of a racket. ok bearing all that in mind ill give it another go soon...
  10. think it would be good to mention its a 4k carby but ive done this conversion before and it still isnt an issue
  11. ok just finished putting the 5k with k50 in my ke55 and surprise of all surprises it wont start. things to consider; there is fuel. jet is ok. there is spark (my heart is still going.....) cam timing is definitely right. so this leaves me at ignition timing. what i need to know is, what is the firing order (can't find it anywhere!)a link to a photo would be best! HELP need the car to run asap as it needs to go off to the shop to get an exhaust from manifold back to be made up and all tuning etc etc before i get my licence back!!!!!
