  1. Hey guys! I'm working on a KE70. of course its pretty old and the motor is "functional", got plenty of issues, and is dying. heres what I'm planning to do: 1. instead of rebuilding the engine, ill do a swap which i was planning to do anyway. my cousin got a bt fwd 4age which he will sell to me for cheaps. 2. now i can't find a T50 or suitable other toyota rwd trannies YET and i know this is going to take quite a while. 3. need a car for dailies and commute so I'm planning to mate the old K40 to 4AGE. IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE WITH AN ADAPTER PLATE? or will something get in the way? 4. if it is possible, ill ask my friends who work in a fab school or someone else... whatever works. 5. daily the car careful not to floor or push the tranny hard. i usually travel light alone with sub 3k rpms. 6. look for a proper tranny. thanks for your inputs.
  2. Hey, My parents "MAY" have come across a custom built unused for many many years 5 speed box to suit ke10... well this is what they have been told anyways, does anyone have a picture showing the different shifter locations so I can give them a copy to compare to the box?
  3. Ok first up, straight away, I know you forums have a search function and google works well AND people have done it in their build. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR THE LAST 4 HOURS. All I have come up with is a lot of conflicting and not very helpful info. I'm about to buy a ke30 auto (definately!). Now It has a later 3 speed which seems to be the problematic one. I have both ke55 5 speed and 4 speed but that's irrelevant. Now I know you have to cut the tunnel for the selector. Or you get a ke70 5 speed. What I want to know it what is what is the go with the xmember?? If I use the k40/50 what do I need to do? (Xmember wise) If I use a ke70 5apeed what do I need to do? Every thing is vague and only says weld it ora don't use this one or that one. I wouldn't post here if I could find it else where so any help for a struggling brother would be great! Or at least a link to somewhere that clearly points out what can't go with what and what works. I could wing it but I want to know what I'm in for... Thanks
  4. Yo I want to run an original k40 box with the long gear lever in my wagon. Not a fan of the k55 box position. I've got a box lined up as a donor. But I'm thinking of trying to swap the k40 extension onto the back of my k50. Looks like it could work, anyone ver swapped them around? I'm guessing the shift rod might give me grief and I'll need to pull the box open.
