Couple of days ago me n a few mates were havin a laugh, sayin we should make a steering wheel made out of rusty chain for my newly named ke20 called Rusty itself haha. Problem is when you joke about something to me and my MaGyver mates, we start thinking and end up making it purely for a laugh. LMAO i can't believe it came out this good.

ey how does it go with the 4k in it, considering its about 200kg lighter than the ke55?

Hmmm i can buy another ke20 for $450 with a blown engine. U guys think its a good idea to buy that as well?????

Hey thanks ROL-110 i need that kinda inspiration hehe. And ye i did get a good deal wif the car. I gave it a quick polish too just to get rid of that white dusty crap on the panels and it come up ok considering lol. I also resprayed the grill and went hack with the autosol on the bumpers and hubcaps.

Hey all, I was at Vic Roads the other day registering my new engine number and came across some older bloke that was admiring my rolla. He told me that his neighbour on a farm had a KE20 that was gonna get taken away by a wreckers. I went to take a look at this car and couldnt bare to see it stripped or turned into a VB can so i bought it lol. Now it needs heaps of work done. Needs a few new panels and tail lights so I'm gonna need the assistance of u guys to help me find some parts. Anyway I'm sure i can get it lookin awesome. Let me know what yas think.

Hey guys, after throwing the replacement engine in ive decided to hook up a thermo fan to cool down the motor a bit more on hot days or if i decide to go back to dragtag to do more burnouts. Plus i was bored and had the fan sittin there. Oh and i had a spare rocket switch that wasnt doin anythin either haha. Anyway heres some pix if yas wanna look at what i do when i get bored.

ah ok thats fair enuf if ya worried about the cornering aspect cos ye 140hp at the wheels aint gonna flex. Should be a good little project. all the best.

do u mean its too much effort to put the indicators back in?

If u want flip the parkers and indicators upside down and slot em in the gaps like i did. Makes it look more complete and stops the indicators from flashing like crazy :kiwi:

go the b45's son lol seriously old school car needs old school classic rims. Simmons are easier to find in your 4x110 stud pattern cos its the same as the old rota's. Ebay it like i did. And how much power is that engine producing cos doesnt sound like chassis twisting performance so i wouldnt waste my money on a half cage.

haha thats what i thought too, well it had the head rebuilt and points. It was in a ke20 and hadnt been in the car for over a year. The guy just cleaned it up and looked after it. Only prob is it needs a sump gasket so ive ordered one in from repco picking up today. Oh and i just put my carby on it cos it was bigger and more reliable. Slapped the engine in and fired up with the first turn of the key.

i was thinkin of doin the same to mine ages ago cos i love the 68 camaro lol Doesnt look bad mate, just respray that grill in high gloss black and should look even better.

Oops i almost forgot to show yas the clean engine i bought. Note that what you see is how i bought it, Orange block and all lol. Oh and yes my engine bay is still yellow but ill spray it when i decide to put an engine in there that actually goes quick :wink:

Ok heres the pix as promised. Suprisingly the rolla rails almost bolted straight up only with a few minor mods.

haha i was thinkin the exact same thing mate. But anyway youve made the right choice if ya want a small cheap reliable car that ya can have fun in cos its RWD. Check my car out for example, all up ive spent just over $2500 and that includes 12mths reg and its a huge headturner.

Ok guys n gals, ive since ripped that 4k out cos it was just getting too unreliable. A mate found an absolutely overrated 3k and box for $50 so thought id slap the engine in meanwhile until i save more for my engine conversion. I'm 99%sure ill be going the sr20det cos I'm sure i can get a halfcut very cheap. With budget being the basis of this project, i ended up giving the engine i took out plus the good box and blown engine and box and some other parts to a wreckers. In return he gave me a set of 2 front mitsubishi GTO seats. So basically ive scored a overrated engine and GTO seats and its only cost me $50. lol So i put them in last night with the help of my mate fattony on this forum. Ill take some pix today and post em. Oh and the drivers seat is electronic which ive hooked up and works a treat haha. Wonder how many KE55's have that :wink:
