  1. i did that this evenin, piss easy job, lowered the back by about 2 inches, with a person in the back it will be dumped, rear rim scraped against the brake line n so i have 2 replace that :lolcry: but otherwise it seems pretty cool
  2. sorry read that a bit too late, what is the "points" as such and how do u clean them without breaking anything? Cheers Ed
  3. Umm, all i know for sure is my ke70 has the same problem, i live with it, but i think its running excessively rich, so i think i mite muck around with the idle mix screw soon, but yeah, can't think of anything else cheers Ed :P
  4. tru, good point, but damn, all good points not to do it, but for some reason, i still want to, just at least once to scare the shit out of some pushbike bandits!
  5. umm, i think its easier to weld ur diff n do a half nut to fit into those carparks dude
  6. hahah hell no! I'm still studying, and ive heard mixed comments on the problems/benefits of cut springs, I'm just thinking a trial an error project, but if there is some real bad reasons for choppin springs then i would like 2 know them
  7. hahaha seeming it don't do that i mite put a coil in the exhaust, they are cool, anyone know how to do that on a budget?
  8. however much the motor is worked, a rolla isnt the best reciever car i thinks, considering mitsis have pretty shit reps for poppin the good ol' head gasket, a sigma would prob be better, n then one can at least gain a little bit of manufacturer respect if that engine is indeed powerful putting a 2.6 sigma motor in a ke is like putting a 13b in a commodore sorry Ed :P
  9. its where on a old car u drive it normally, then turn it off, but keep it in gear n rolling, allowing fuel to be sucked in thru the engine without burning, then after a while u turn the engine back to 'on' and then the combustion is meant to ignite the fuel that is in the exhaust and it makes big bangs, the only detrimental effects ive heard of is blowing apart muffelers, but my muffelers rnt in that badder condition and i havent been able to get even a pop :P
  10. i thought 3k heads were weak? personally i reccomend getting a belt sander and goin over the head for a while, n try that! haha jk, what motor is it? i think 1/4 a mm mite do the trick, i have no idea tho, just thinking of what ive seen of different thickness head gaskets used on rb engines
  11. Hey all, yes, I'm a big fan of old car thrashing, :P and i have been trying alot to do keybangers in my KE70, but it just wont do them! So does anybody actually know what the sequence is for successful key bangers? :P also any possible disasterous effects would be well known i think. Key :) gers! Cheers Ed
  12. cheers for the advice dudes, never thought of that leaf idea, will try that soon, if it don't work nothing lost, is there any online instructions on how to chop springs? i rarely use my car during the week when i have uni on, and I'm doing engineering so looking for something to muck around with. cheers
  13. my car: 0-100: half an hour 1/4 mile: a long weekend haha or something similar to that
  14. hahaha good luck, ive always dreamed of something like that, maybe one day when i get a 13b into a KE ill drift u off! haha jk hope it all works out, u got s14 gearbox also?
  15. Name: The love machine (even got a sticker on it saying that, its seen alot of action inside that wagon interior and not just by me;) Car: 1983 KE70 wagon, daily n occasional thrasher Motor & Driveline: Stock 4 speed Suspension & Brakes: Stock Wheels & Tyres: Some little mags with cheese cutter Silverstones (125's o think) Interior: Stock, Cd deck, did have 12" sub n better speakers but theft risk too great Body: Creme, a few dents and a bit of rust, otherwise not too bad for its age, did have spotties for touring but got yellowed so lots of stuff came off, rear left window with tasteful stickers Other: I did a 5min standstill in my garage once, assisted by oil, actually went LS too for a while, hence the hardyness of 4k's. Just letting u know i have no intention on making my car a show car, however i do have a love for ke70's and do have future plans for a sick buildup, just not with this beast.
  16. Hey all, I'm a new member just wanting some help for my KE70. :P Firstly, does anybody know where to find a gregory's manual (or equivalent) for a 4k motor? I'm looking for something free ie online (as i am a stingy uni student and the point of buying a KE is bang for buck). Secondly, is it bad to take out the load bearing leaf in the rear of my wagon? ie to do a dodgy lowering job, my mate has done this to his rodeo ute n it works, or will taking out a leaf make the rear dangerously weak? Thirdly, is anybody in WA interested in selling a 4k or 5k motor of decent quality or even an unregistered ke-series (pref ke70) car, emphasis on cheap here! Fourthly, does anybody know how to tune a 4k-c carby? ie what screws do what, as my car is gettin not the best fuel economy nor power and cheap (preferably free) fixes are welcomed. Fithly I love my car, but it is not a show car, it is designed for reliable driving and the occasional thrash, that said i would like to know the best bang for buck mods i can do to my car, ie the best kW increase per dollar spent, if u would like to put it that way. Any answers to the following questions will be greatly appreciated, when i graduate i would like to do a sik ke70 build up, something fun like a 4ag 20v or even a 13b conversion, but for now I'm stuck with my beast. :P Cheers Ed
