  1. have them set in series all with different limits - then as the revs climb each light will illuminate as its set limit is reached
  2. would be the same principle - just only configure the one light that illuminates the needle
  3. there are multi coloured diodes that are colour dependant on the amout of power fed to them - that in theory would work well if you had a few lighting your speedo and the current/power was fed via your tacho - high revs should equal high power throughput
  4. i am sure i said focused on adjusting - which takes longer than the cursory glance in the mirror - so NO i don't think lookin gin the mirror is an offence
  5. if you are focused on adjusting something to see behind you then you aren't paying attntion to what's in front of you - UNDUE CARE
  6. here is the start of my Speedo setup - again I have all the elements as separate bits for anyone willing to do some photoshop work
  7. no chance - i have been waiting silently for a set to com eup - they are on there first chance I get (about 15 min after nick digs them out of the shed)
  8. havent had time to do much work on them - the ones above took a few hours believe it or not. I have scans of the main guages and have most of the speedo done - just need to factor in a few numbers - all will be revealed soon.
  9. ^^^^^^^ He's right (again)
  10. Mine read quite well at night - they are actually easier to read as they have more light but not an excess of light
  11. Grabbed my globes from the rice section of SuperCheap ($10 a pair in various colours) They are push-ins - just swap out the 3 globes on the back of the speedo cluster casing See the effect here -->> http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...indpost&p=67510
  12. I replaced the standard globes (and the crappy rubber covers on them) with LEDs. Play and Play - available from most auto stores for about $10 a pair (you need 3) Now I have sweeeeeett blue light in my guages
  13. Started - see Post HERE
  14. Sorry - took me 8 months - man am I slack. Ok here is the start of the guages for an AE8# .... I have done a significant amount of clean up and photoshop work on these so if you would like to use them ask and I'll send the PSD file. This image is the left and right warning lights. This image shows how the lights look in the on and off configuration. (You need to click on it to see the animation of lights working) This image shows what Nick might need to custom your stickers - or what you would need to change and print (all the black is what needs replacing) This shows the work I have done in photoshop Each side is grouped together. Each light has its own symbol and text (on separate layers) The lights are on 2 layers (on and darkened) The background (black) is a separate layer Effectively you can change any of the text to a font you like (I used aero) or turn off the text (thats my plan). My plan is to remove the text and have nick cut stickers to match the black on a brushed metal or chrome sticker - place the sticker over the panel and bingo. Soon to come: Speedo Panel Tacho Panel * Clock Panel * Blank Panel * * this is the panel to the right of the speedo - changes depending on the model.
  15. In QLD you are allowed to sell the plates if you wish - lots of people seem to buy unique names then resell them for a fortune - yesterday at the Motorshow the PPQ stand had a large display of plates for sale - some as much as $50,000!! But generally cashing in your plates is getting back the few months rego owed on the plates - if you don't have the car you don't need to pay the rego/road taxes etc - so handing in the plates is like a receipt fo rthe rego - you get back the pro-rata amount
  16. pops also reckons it might be a load thing due to there being two circuits for the headlamps - so the split load combined with a dodgey connection may suck the big ones
  17. Spoke to my old man (ex mechanic) he seems to think its a dirty connection at the steering column stalk - will be stripping mine this weekend and doing a check
  18. mine does the same - push forward and drive in the dark for anything up to 10 secs - then they come to life - its not everytime tho - NFI what is causing it
  19. Mind if i ask where you got them and how much ??
  20. Yep - but not as much as they hate being on MOD REVIEW!!
  21. No. I think I know what it might be - "MyPopupKiller" has an option to hide Kazaa ads - so I guess to do that it listens on the kazaa ports - will try and switch that option off and do a restart and see what happens
  22. Done and Done - they return nothing Wonder if its limewire opening them ???
  23. But I'm not running kazza and it is long gone from my machine - so what is opening the ports ?
  24. OK guys after running a NETSTAT I have noticed I have Kazaa references in there TCP sr:epmap ssm.kazaa.com:0 LISTENING TCP sr:microsoft-ds ssm.kazaa.com:0 LISTENING See the attached file for the complete list of them Q: - What process is firing these up and how do I remove them ? netstat.txt
