  1. I am also desperate for a set of these. I have another mechanism but it does not have the plastic bushes and it also has a different motor and wiring. I am going to try and fit a rubber gromett instead. I will find out tomorrow. But in the mean time if anybody has some info please share the knowledge
  2. Hey mate, Great little project you have. I was going to go with the rotor conversion but opted for the SR20. I have stuffed around with a hilux and by past experience oit is worth trading your 6 stud compete diff for a 5 stud from the start. You basically have top change everything from backing plates. axles etc. They are basically 2 different diffs. After alot of research on the hilux diffs i have now got a 2wd from a 86 model. I know that a 1976 2wd hilux diff will fit into a mazda 1300 without beign shortened. But good luck trying to find one which was the problem that i had. Good luck with the rest of the project
  3. Try work on your car when you work and have kids it almost impossible. I really do like this conversion and detail in it. sorry to bug you. Goodluck with the manifold and well see more after you get some time
  4. Update, any more pictures
  5. I had a 5k in my old Ke20 and that was plenty for getting sideways whenever i fealt the need. Even picked up both wheels doing a burnout, gotta love heat welded diff's Bang for buck you can't go past the mighty 4/5k i reckon. Although as I stated before do not underestimate the power that can be made from the humble 2.6 astron motor.
  6. Thanks very much, just need to go down the local spare parts shop with both hubs Thanks once again
  7. I am doing a brake conversion that was on a previous Ke20 (now gone). It had Ke30 brakes on the front with the Ke30 hubs. what I really need to know is the bearings. I know that you have to use a Ke30 and Ke20 bearing but i can't remember which way it was e.g Ke30 inner and Ke20 outer bearing. I have tried to do a search to find but with no luck. Any help would be great. I know that the Ke55 brakes bolt on but I had the KE30 struts already. Thanks Justin
  8. I am leagally alowed to go for a 2lt turbo as per the RTA's new rules. So i thought about it and the SR was the best option i thought for bang for buck. CA's are good but you can't beat capacity.
  9. Hi again, do you have coil overs for the front struts? Damn its hard to work out brake packages for Ke2x. I am just collecting all the bits i need to start the conversion in my Ke26. Going SR20DET auto witha hilux diff. all i need now is to sort the front brakes and i can get underway. you have given me an idea for the brakes now which should work
  10. I have to agree these motors are great for cheap power. A mate of mine drag raced his galant wagon with a astron motor with the magna head with turbo and it runs 10.50's. I say do it. There was also one for sale on ebay about 3-4 months ago that looked like a piece of crap but had the hole conversion in there without cutting anything. :)
  11. Interesting, I don't know how they fitted Ke30 struts in because I have just tried this and the don't fit with the top hat being to wide and the bottom 2 holes that bolt to the steering arms don't line up. But thanks for the info. You have one seriously good build on your hands and are doing a really great job at writting it up.
  12. Congrats on the build it looks great, its also a really good write up and good read. Out of interest what springs are you running at the front to be able to fit those wheels?
  13. Hi congrats on the build it looks really good. Just out of interest due to doing a conversion on a KE26 sson I am just wondering what front brake setup you are running? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, once again very good project and goodluck with the rest of it
  14. Thats great thanks very much. I hadnt even thought about the thread issue. How is the pedal feel in your car? And the brakes, so compared to a newer car? The only reason that i ask is that my wagon is going more for the drag scene with number plates on it. As stated before i have looked at and driven the KE20 with the SR in it that had RA23 slotted brakes on the front and vs commo discs on the bake with a remote landruser booster and a pagero master and the pedal feel was quite hard. But then again i shouldnt complain it is an old car after all.
  15. This is a similar setup that i have re-searched. The only thing that i have found hard to get is the part numbers for the conversions that people have done. If anyone could list the part numbers or the year models that obtained the parts from that would be great. The reason being is i am just about to pull my Ke26 off the road for an SR20DET conversion. I have also seen a boosted setup on a mates SR20 Ke20 (Formally known as HELP). It ran an remote booster of an landcriuser and a master of a pajero. The brakes are alright but are abit sketchy under hard braking with a hard pedal, but that could also be due to alot of other factors.
  16. Another Ke26 owner, yeehaa. I saw start doing it up. They are pretty rare (in sydney anyway). I have only ever seen 3 in the flesh and 2 of those I have. I am malways interested if there are any coming up for sale even if it is in sunny Brissy. I am starting my project on mine this year once i get my new garage bult. I am going for Sr20det auto and hilux. Post some pic's always love to see other Ke26's
