  1. I just spoke to my engine builder, he said he has had a bit to do with alot of the rolla engines building them for rallies et.c, and mine, i asked him about getting springs, rods and work on the head, he said he's got plenty of suppliers in queensland he can easily get his hands on the gear for you. If you want to know more give me a PM or you can call him yourself Mick Free Flow Cylinder Heads & Engines (07) 3245 5044 I find if you want to know about building a engine talk to the guys who do all day everyday
  2. Well there you go i stand corrected. I was just going off what i have been told from the guys at work. and my 4K in my KE20 was plated so yea, but if you don't need one sweet as...
  3. I'm pretty certain you will actually need a Mod Plate. In QLD if a vehicle has had a modification were factory mounting points have been changed or modified, or the vehicle was not manufactured with that modification ie they never were produced with that engine e.t.c you will need a mod plate. so you will need a engineer to look over they transplant, he's signs off on it considering all is right, then he will make up a plate pop rivet it to the car, then you take your paperwork he gives you down to DOT and they do the rest. I'm pretty certain that's what is meant to happen. i've just been threw it all. luckily i work with three qualified engineers so if you want it down give me a yell and i can help you out cheers
  4. Sweet as thanks guys.... i'll give it a shot and we'll see what happens if it all goes to plan i'll take some pics and put up a bit of a tech thread
  5. Hello to everyone Just a Quick Question about relocating the battery to the boot.....basically has anyone done it? Just wondering how hard it was, headaches involved, materials required e.t.c I tried doing a search in all forums and th FAQ but couldn't find anything, if there isn't a TECH article already on it i'd be more than happy to make one as i go, but before i start jst thougt i'd od a bit of research first. Thanks
  6. Another One under KE20, i'm in for that, my bro just bought an EH wagon and he needs a bit of gear as well, should see what he says....
  7. All there worried about and when i say "there" i mean DOT, is that by adding the FMIC you don't cut any holes, or grind anything away becuase by doing that you weaken the crush zone of the Vehicle therefore it is no longer up to manufactures specs, when a car has been modified and needs a plate, the work done has to meet or exceed maufactures specs.
  8. Front Mount Intercoolers are legal as long as the Impact and Crush zone on the front of the vehicle haven't been cut or weekend by the front mount beening fitted, this includes cutting 10mm out of the plastic on the bumper bar to make it fit, basically they want you to be able to bolt them on without touching a thing,
  9. I do Mod plates and RWC's a work, by the book where meant to check the plate if were doing a RWC and it's got one, but we never do, usaully we do a RWC and Mod plate all in the one hit, it's easier that way, as said before depends were you go
  10. Oh true, i didn't know KE20/25 came out disc brake front end, and they didn't have a booster aye, sweet, well i'll let them know and see how i go cheers guys
  11. oh true, the car needs 8 modifications certs for RWC, we compliance and do mod plates at work and my boss is fairly relaxed on a few issues but he said i need a booster for mod plate and rwc, i'd like to put one in any idea's
  12. Hey everyone, just a quick question i have a 74 KE20 which has had a disc brake conversion on the front KE30 i think, but it doesn't have a booster, and i am informed that to pass mod plate and RWC specs in QLD i need a booster for the disc brakes. Does anyone know if any later Boosters bolt up and work KE30, KE70 e.t.c and has anyone done it, is it easy e.t.c thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

Yea I'm a 1st year turning second in april, carburettors etc i'm still learing about everything i see today is all efi, i was thinking for a srtaight swap i've got three downdraft webbers at home and two manifolds, so i thought i can't really lose i just didn''t know if it's be a waste of time becuase i didn't know anything about these twin downdrafts e.t.c just looking for some advice and a point in the wright direction
  15. Are the carbs anygood and worth the swap???
  16. Hey guys/gals quick qeustion, I had a KE70 sedan come into work on friday for a RWC, was a clean little car and sounded nice. When i lifted the bonnet it had two downdraft carbies on a standard toyota dondraft inlet maniflod with what looked like two asain versions of a 32/36 webber, all bolted on to a 4-KC. Know i got talking to the guy and he said he bought the car as is, and was chasing a single webber 32/36 with manifold, linkage kit, air filter e.t.c, know i told him i had all that and he was talking bout s swap, has anybody heard of these carbies and manifold all genuie toyota stuff, would the swap be worth it? let me know what you think cheers guys.

  19. Alright then well the diff guy was right conversion is the only way to up grade with that said i'll wait and see how the little winey borg worner goes clutch dumping and skids i find are a waist of time and money well when stuff breaks from doing that anyway thanks for your help guys jsut curious where would i start looking for a sprinter ot T18 diff?
  20. Yes it was properly ported and flow tested, the enigne was built by mick a Free Flow Cylinders & Engines, and it has been setup for pump fuel, but if and when it's beening driven at the track or on the dyno i would like to run AVGAS i know 130-140Hp sounds impossible wih a n/a 1.3L engine but i've seen it done and and work with guys who have achieved it, at least I'm trying. thus the reason for the diff question i thought you guys would know.....
  21. Hey guys I'm in a little pickle, i have a KE70 sedan, with the 4K-C motor. I've just finished rebuilding it and it is as follows: 60" over ACL pistons 10" over on the crank blocks been cleand and cracked tested e.t.c biggest ports possible on the head very large camshaft can't quite remeber the specks it's all been balanced twin 40mm webbers dizzy's been grafted, with 10mm leads and aftermarket ignition and spark setup electric fuel pump e.t.c New 5 Speed box heavy duty clutch 1 piece tail shaft BUT..... the diff is standard and i don't want to be breaking it or anything becuase the car is actually a daily driver i'm aiming for the 130-140Hp and the wheels on avgas so can the little borgwarner take it or what can i do, i spoke to my local diff guy during the week and he says there's no different gears or anything you can do with them, the best he could offer was to put a commodore diff in it with custom diff housings, axles e.t.c what can i do guys any help would be greatly apprectiated cheers guys
