  1. Thanks, the only thing I wasn't really sure on was because they don't come with seatbelts standard it might be a problem.
  2. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am looking at getting an early model KE, most likely a KE10. I am just trying to figure out the legalities on having a child seat in the back? Has anyone got any info on this or experience?
  3. Very tidy, did you need to recess the firewall at all? Registerable? Keen to see some vids if you have any?
  4. Looking good mate keep the pics/vids coming! I'm still not sure which path I'm going to go with mine. I really don't want to loose any handling going from the SR to the RB but I guess I won't really know the different unless I actually do it..
  5. Is that manifold high or low mount? Do you think you will have any clearance issues hitting the strut tower etc.?

  7. Thanks for the info mate, I was expecting the manual shifter would sit a whole lot further back than that. I've attached a pic of where mine was midway through the build with a sr20 box/engine. Do you think an RB20/25 engine/box would be futher back or about the same? I ended up turning my shifter around aswell and where it currently sits is no problem at all but any futher back and it will probably foul on the handbrake.
  8. Any pics of the firewall before the engine went in? I'm considering going from a sr20 to a rb20/25 but I'm not sure where the shifter will sit.. Any ideas? Did you dummy fit a manual box by any chance haha?
  9. Any more info on the custom gearshifter to bring it back to stock position? How much further back does the shifter hole actually sit? I tryed that link but it doesn't work? Even after registering?
  10. Thanks heaps mate, doesn't look like there are too many "legal" forced induction engine conversions that are going to work with those weights unfortunatly :D

    Haven't updated for a while so thought I might throw some recent pics up. Also added the following, -HSD weld on coilover kit,trd yellows,7kg springs with helper -XXR 513 15 x 8 -0 rims all round -Rear guards slight flare -Rear strut brace -4.1 MIG locker -Adjustable panhard bar Thanks to "ke70Dave" for the pics aswell as a few people from the SD forums!!

    I wish lol. I had a mate watching when I went to Willobank and he reckons it just barely lifted the left wheel off the line with slicks on but I dunno for sure

    Na I'm still using the ke70 crossmember with the old mounts grinded off and new ones made up from scratch. But I have heard of people using a s13/180sx crossmember aswell. Tunnel needed a bit of bashing but if I was to do this again I would cut and extend the firewall/tunnel to make it easier for gearbox/clutch changes. The gearstick does sit a bit back from where it used to be but I reversed the shifter which gives it a bit more room. Only just clears the handbrake where it's at now but it's no worry to me really. Any more questions feel free to ask :dance:

  20. Bit off-topic but what rotory's are able to legally be dropped into a ke10 in Qld? I remember seeing the way to work out the max engine size on here somewhere but can't find it atm..
  21. Damn well that really screws me up.. Is there any way at all to get around this? What are the laws like in NSW with this situation because I do have a residence down there.
  22. Ahh ok thanks for clearing that up. With my ke70 I had a SR20 engine and gearbox, aswell a hilux diff fitted. Took the car to get inspected, got my mod plate then roady then staight to transport depo to get it registered. All they did was come out and check the engine/vin numbers then got a copy of the mod plate papers and that was it. This is probably a bit off-topic, but what engines are legal to drop into a KE10 in Qld atm? I'm looking at getting one and swapping all my gear into it but it's looking like that isn't going to work for me now.. CA18DET?
  23. But having the Brown Slip with the new weight will not allow you to make the conversion legal right? If that makes any sense??
  24. What are NSW's laws with engie conversion? Probably a bit different to ours I'm guessing? When measuring the weight of the car to determine if it's legal or not, do they go from the original factory weight or can they actually put the car on a weigh bridge after the engine is in etc.?
