  1. yeh sounds like him the idiot. apparently he was in the fast fours mag cos he rear ended someone and when questioned said it was cos his brakes locked! baahhaha idiot
  2. I'm sure atleast some of you guys have been told by a certain RogerCordia that his cordia is the greatest in the world and will beat any car that races it. well, i made a video paying him out about how slow his car is and all his stupid claims! check it out :jamie: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=CSFHAe4GHao
  3. Best suggestion in this thread so far
  4. I'm studying engineering at adelaide and one of my older mates graduated last year and does certificates here in sa, he was the one who told me. he said you can get away with it if you have a certificate but there are alot of regulations to abide by. I'm not sure about carbon fibre though as I'm sure it has different fracture properties to fibreglass. ring up the rta and find out from them, best bet cos i know in sa its a no no, but still, doesnt really stop people from doing it, and if your car is all painted up, how will anyone ever know?
  5. i was going to do this on my cordia but its illegal as the fibreglass splinters in the event of a crash and isnt safe for pedestrians and stuff like that. still you can do it for a "track" car if you really want, just like I am doing for my "track" corolla
  6. see now a t50 will need a different bellhousing correct? just out of curiosity, how does your engine drive? where does it start making its power and up to what revs does its powerband end? and how is she to drive in traffic + fuel economy haha!
  7. fix the link! i wanna see!
  8. damn thats a sweet setup there  what box do you run? cos if i keep the standard 4 speed, will she drop out of the powerband when i shift?
  9. planning to drive her on the street, but hammer in the hills alot, hopefully she loves revs, cos i do haha! have you got any photos of the sump you made? and just of your engine in general
  10. pop in a 308 from a holden, been done many times before, easy to find parts for, even easier to get big power out of. but just remember she'll be a pig to handle
  11. damn 83 mm! thats huge! my pistons are just 81mm so standard 4age diameter, and 40 thou overbore on the 5k. what about head bolts, are there any really strong ones to handle high compression? also you said that i will need to modify the sump, what do I need to do to it?
  12. fantastic info there trd, cheers! Well i'll be custom making my inlet manifold to suit my twin webers so i guess i'll accomodate uprighting the engine in my designs. id love to get the 20mm pistons but ive already got the 18mm pistons  The 3k will definately outrev the 5k due to the stroke, i guess its just a question as to how much the 5k can rev. Now this talk about valves, what is the usual go with them? i recall someone saying gemini valves? whats the deal there? also the double valve springs, do I source them from a holden 202? any ideas for stronger pushrods? cheers to everyone once again!

haha saw the same car there too!
  14. lol whoops ment s13! so is the adaptor bracket for the calipers or is it to bolt it onto the hub?
  15. the only machining i would do is on the pistons to make them 20mm, boring and decking the block, shaving the head and a port and polish and balancing the thing so she'll rev. now, getting an engineers report here in sa for a 4age, going to regency and screwing round with cops let alone the engine conversion is headf*ck fullstop. if I'm wrong there, i'll go sell my ass down hinley street for a weekend lol! anyway i know it will cost money, I'm not a retard, and i know it'll probably end up costing heaps of it too! I'm not too fazed on that. all id like is advice on a setup. is revving over 8 a waste of time? whats the strength of 4age rods? how do i upright my motor? extractors; what should I do there? stuff like that concerns me, rooting around with a motor doesnt, cos at the end of the day, it comes part and parcel with modding your car the way you want it. thanks for the concerns and everything, I know you just want to highlight issues so don't take this as a go at anyone or anything cos all the information has been great and i thank everyone for that, as well as the constructive criticism
