Sounding good guys. I am usually happy to attend club meets. There are only 3 more rounds of this years hillclimb, so it's not really a continuing date that we can set..... But by all means, come along for the last ones and check out a few Corollas ripping up the rest of the field..... 2 corollas currently coming 1st in their classes and 2nd and 7th overall from around 80 cars.... A cruise, meet and feed (and bev) are a combination that should please most people. I know of a few Corolla projects happening around town, and would be good to hear about progress on such projects..........

Today arrived the gearbox spacer from Sam @ SQ engineering. This will give just enough clearance needed to clear the Crank sensor cover from the heater core outlets....

Ok, The 20V motor went in today. Went in quite smoothly...... So, after getting the motor in, I then went to fit the 'AE71' G box crossmember. But, the X member was not wide enough. It would bolt to the mount on the box, but then it wouldn't bolt up to the car body. I then got out the AE86 gearbox X member, which has 4 bolt holes to mount to the body. Only 2 of the holes would align, but since the KE70 and 'AE71' x member both only had 2 mount holes anyway, I just used the AE86 one with just 2 bolts attaching it to the KE70 body.... All bolted up and was very secure.... When the 'AE71' crossmember was sold to me, I was told it was a AE71 crossmember, but it's not... Turns out It was from a TE71, which is the same as the panelvans, so thats where the confusion was with the seller. Not to worry, the seller happily refunded the money Then I connected all plugs and wiring. No problems there. I still have to tidy/finalise the wiring and secure the ignition coils to the engine bay. Getting closeer now....

Ok, Long overdue for an update. Due to various reasons, things have become slow over the last month or two. But the build is now back on track. So where are we, Well Sloth (car owner) has been away, travelling the countryside, enjoying himself, I have been slaving away, building his car...... Haha, just kidding, I love working on Toyotas, and anyway, I have never done the KE70 --> 4AGE conversion before, and I am doing not one, but 2 of my own KE70 --> 4AGE converions after this one is done. So, this will teach myself how to do it, and how/if it can be done better the next time round.... So, I have replaced the heater core. The old one was totally rooted. The outlets were so coroded, they, well, just crumbled to pieces. Here is a pic of the old one, and the new used one we received from KEnut - I have also sorted out the engine loom wiring for the 20V. The loom is in, and wired to the shell..... Now, I am currently preparing the motor and gearbox to be dropped into the car. As this is going to be a car for motorsport, and not comfort, I am removing the bulky Air Con components. The motor is getting a clean up, should be dropped into the car tomorrow. Motor with Air con - Also finished bolting in the AE71 pedal box. I must say, the hardest/most annoying part of the conversion so far is the pedal box installation. Not so much the actual installing of it, but having to pull the whole dash (and more) out to get access to remove/install the pedal box. I am not looking forward to doing it 2 more times.......

Welcome Al, I noticed you made a post in the other section about a 4k motor and parts? If you are after a complete 4k motor and running gear, I will be selling all that cheap and local in the next month or two. Send me a PM msg if you are interested.
