  1. Brakes aren't something a person with no idea should be attending to... they aren't difficult, but at the same time, they are the things that stop your car... if you aren't sure, get an expert!
  2. Scotts Old Auto Rubber Co. About $35 each.
  3. Not a single call made about the little green KE20. Unbelievable!! Oh well going to see if I can drum some more interest up in it and spread the word faster.. you had your chance vic people lol.
  4. What do you mean by moulding? The chrome strip that runs through the centre of the rubber and acts as the locking strip? If that is what you mean, Scott's sells that too. Not sure if they sell the corners as well, you might have to use what you have.
  5. No worries.. will try and get them up in the next day or two
  6. Problem is those ones are coming from Thailand and keep getting a bad review here. I would suggest http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/TOYO...0KE30-35-36.htm Costs more, but the extra money is worth the extra life you will get from it.
  7. You know your type 3's kehendo :) Yes it is a late model with early model bumpers fitted, and then the overriders on them. The overriders are a flat4 product. http://www.flat4.co.jp/english/dtail-bd.html#BD-645 - available from lots of different suppliers. The wind deflectors are specific to my model, but they are made for heaps of different VW's. Can also get coloured perspex ones. Here is one place I found that sells them. http://www.jcwhitney.com/in-channel-stainl...s/p2004999.jcwx
  8. That KE25 was parked, with driver, out the front of Peter Robinsons as I drove past tonight.
  9. Thanks :) I think its low enough for every day duties. I don't want to go mega low as I think that chops the front suspension out, gets a wee bit uncomfortable when riding the bump stops, and attracts too much attention from the popo. I do like your airbag plans though!!
  10. Squareback is not that rare... none of the Type 3's are as common as Beetles, but I wouldn't say any of them are rare as yet, always a few for sale. A proper ridgy didge panelvan version of the square on the other hand is most rare.. and most cool :)
  11. My brother is heavily into Kombi's and goes camping in his immaculate split window panelvan a lot, and I have developed a hankering to join him. I didn't want to have a Kombi though and have always liked the Type 3's, so I decided I would hunt down a Squareback (wagon). I have had a few near misses on buying ones recently, but finally came up trumps with this one. Found it on the aussieveedubbers forum. It was in Sydney so I pursued the owner with a few phone calls..it sounded great so I had my brother check it out on Wednesday night and put down a deposit for me. Handily I was already going to be in Sydney last weekend to catch up with friends and family, so me and my brother went and collected it on Sunday afternoon. I have to work out how I am going to get it down to Melbourne - truck, trailer, rego it up there, unregistered vehicle permit from vic, etc etc etc. Plans are to tidy it up a little.. and then cruise... and go camping with my brother in his gorgeous Kombi. Here is a couple of quick shots taken today Here are a couple from before the present owner got hold of it The photos disguise a few spots of rust in the usual places.. the bumpers need rechroming.. tyres need replacing and walls re-doing, and the interior needs a tidy up, but over all its going to be awesome! I seriously love this car already :) Here is a photo of the Kombi my brother owns that started this whole VW thing. Its awesome.
  12. Kehendo you should look at the non-toyota thread I am just about to put up.. should sort you out nicely :)
  13. Looks like it was a good day. Who owned the KE25, and where is Graham The KE30 in those photos?!
  14. should be fine.. i will let brendan know on the toymods thread.
  15. good info kehendo... can you please spell my home town as sydney from now on though ? thanks ! :)
  16. Look closer my young friend They ran into something rather hard with the passenger A-pillar, which then led to the exploded windscreen. So it would need a pillar and probably a door frame, passenger window, along with a windscreen and rubber. Not impossible to find or do, but I bet the green KE20 I mentioned in the spotted thread would be a better buy in the long run :)
  17. I will be in Sydney so my comments are worth not much.. but it sounds like a great idea. Maybe propose on the toymods thread dfunkt?
  18. Hi folks Some of the gents from Toymods & TCCA are going for a drive up to the big Winton Historic meeting on May 29th and 30th. The Historic race meeting is awesome, as there are lots of classic cars and you can get up close and personal with them in the pits. Cruise will depart Saturday 29th May at 8am. Departure point will be the Shell Service Station on the Hume Freeway just north of Craigieburn, on the corner of Donnybrook Rd where the new overpass is. Route will be the dull, but swift Hume Highway to Winton. Some guys are staying for the weekend, others like me will probably just make a day trip of it. Come along if you want to have a drive and check out some old cars! http://www.austin7club.org/Historic-Winton-2010.pdf
  19. So as far as I can tell we have attending BKS MintKE70 78_7krolla Johno Paul - maybe Do any of you want to do the karting? Anyone else planning on attending? Just want to let Brendon who is organising the cruise know. Cheers Adam
  20. You don't read very well!! If you want his details PM me and I will give them to you
  21. Thats the one.
  22. The guy who owns it.. an older man of asian descent.. has owned it since brand new. Could tell you everything about it, whats been done, etc etc. So it hasn't gone through any one else's hands. They are only selling it as they don't feel its particularly good for carrying the grand kids about in.
  23. Cross drilled rotors often crack prematurely. Have seen a number of examples on different forums over the years.
  24. Drilled is not worth it.. they often crack prematurely.
