  1. have you spoken to the king of corollas - Peter Robinson Autotmotive in Oakleigh? He might have the parts you need. Dave on the forums here might also be able to help... can't remember if he is aaaagze or te278u on here... he is one of them :D
  2. stock style new shocks is about all you will get for your ke30. its not perfect, but if you are on a budget i reckon you will go fine. technically you should have short stroke inserts in there to keep the spring captive, but this is rarely a problem in the real world, other than with roadworthy inspectors :D
  3. AJPS will be able to sort you out with Performance Superlites to the offset and width you want. I had them on my KE35 and they looked great in 15x7. Rewinds are hard to find locally. I got a set in through TechnoToyTuning a few years ago now. I bought another set through the forums at ae86drivingclub. Try a wanted ad up there and toymods and here, as there are quite a few sets on cars around the place.
  4. Hope she doesnt read rollaclub lol
  5. people with ke30/50's shouldnt be bothering chasing the corona arms... simple. thats the problem with rumour and innuendo... people follow it blindly without doing some actual research :D
  6. what are we considering as "the standard"
  7. I think there were a few DeTomaso varieties over the years. Mine is the last of them, it is a 3 door but not turbo.. 1.6L single cam, 16 valve engine. Sort of similar to the applause but better head and cam apparently. Close ratio gearbox helps no end also.
  8. Whooo hoooo ... the De Tomato Handbag must be a full fledged race car now... it appears in a photo on page 30 of Auto Action today :D
  9. I believe that Corona *T13* and Corolla KE3*/5* ones are the same length. They certainly were in my race car. This makes them longer than the *E7* ones.
  10. there is a good one on toymods
  11. Looks awesome. Well done!
  12. yeah the 5k bolts will be fine.. or the 4k ones... what i was saying was don't use the bolts from your 1K on the 4K.
  13. Oh I remembered one more thing. The bolts holding gearbox bellhousing to engine block went from coarse to fine, or fine to coarse.. can't remember which way it went. So you will need the bolts from the engine you are putting in when bolting it all together.
  14. Its on again tonight...
  15. Well have been home nearly a week from Valla, and I think I am still recovering! Anyways Veronica performed faultlessly on the the nearly 2000 mile trip to Valla and back. Sat on 75 mph the whole way home from Sydney on the Tuesday and was just a pleasure to drive. There are lots of new photos in my albums on picasa... some are shot by my brother and his girlfriend... here are a few favourites Which one of us is cooler? hehe My smile sums it up so well! Oh and HEAPS more photos of all things VW at the Valla show in my picasa album - http://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974
  16. The mighty Charade ran at the Phillip Island 6 Hour relay on the weekend... went bloody well. 3 seconds faster than I ever was in the Corolla ;) We came 31st out of the 50 teams entered. Here is some video from the weekend Practice 1 - Practice 2 - Relay Stint 1 - Relay Stint 2 - And some photos can be found here http://picasaweb.google.com.au/adamlaws197...sland6Hour2010#
  17. I found when putting a 4K into my KE10 that there were two unexpected things that came up. One, the kickdown rod needed to be adjusted - the extra height in the block of the 4K meant that the rod had too much tension on it, and my toyoglide wouldn't leave first gear. Second one was that with the radiator in its original spot, the engine fan just clipped the top tank of the radiator.. or something on the radiator.. not enough to do damage, but enough to make a horrid noise under hard braking. Slotting the holes fixed that.
  18. three tenths of f@$k all. scrap prices are not great currently.
  19. So as I didn't want big long battery cables and anderson plugs every where with that big amp, and my mini amp has not yet arrived from ebay china.. we are up to option C! Sony headunit all installed and running a treat. The carpentry work to create the box is shite, and will need improvement on return from my road trip to the big VW get together at Valla. However it will give me tunes there and back which was the goal. In other news, Mark at Imported has given the front end a birthday, so now it steers and stops like its meant to! Today was two new front tyres and a wheel alignment, and sadly an end to the yellow walls. I reckon it looks a bit plain without them so I will have to get some new ones when I have done some miles on these tyres. Tomorrow Mark gives her a tune, and then we are all set for our road trip to Valla!
  20. nice work guys!
  21. 2 speed or 3 speed auto? Looks just like the first car of my first girlfriend..except some douchebag tore the front of it off when it was parked on the street one night.
  22. hehe... i get a drive? sweet!!!! hurry up and finish it!! those badges are going to set a high standard for the rest of the car Pete. May the force be with you :)
  23. Sounds suspiciously like excuses to me :) * * as observed by the bloke who has had a 98% finished Celica in his garage for 6 months now....
  24. A tyre out of balance will not be obvious at all speeds... generally you will only notice it 80km/h plus. Take it some where and get them to have a look. Then you will know and can act accordingly.
  25. Spotted dark blue KE25 turning on to North Rd in Oakleigh yesterday afternoon about 4.15pm. Thought it was Dave.. but it wasn't.. I think it had early RX7 rims and looked very tidy.
