WGMG: FFFUUUUUUU!!!! So I sold my car a few months ago to a couple who had big plans for the old girl. I wasn't directing my statement directly at you deago but to the masses of Australians who live off of government pay cheques and then complain about the " big wigs" being in control but in reality they have screwed their own lives over and don't want to blame themselves. I agree with you 100% on raping our environment for monetary gains and exploiting 3rd world countries where there are no environmental laws to obide by. The work can not continue on it current path but believe me when I say things will change. Environmental issues are getting more and more main stream media attention and more legislation is being put in place to protect natural environments. Unfortunately corruption and the likes of "jobs for friends" sagas will always be a blight on the government or any position of power. I've stopped listening to conspiracy/community/whatever radio because of all the dole bludging nutcases that frequent the channels. I don't watch tv because of all the crap that they show, I do read the news, not only Australian news but news from all over the world and from every angle so that I can make my own mind up and not be spoon fed information by corporation controlled media. I'm with orange on this one, you will NEVER know until you go looking yourself. All one can do is speculate. Of course all the people with the most money have all the power and all the people with no money want a free handout or an easy pathway to success. Well everyones success is their own, when my family came to Australia we had nothing but the clothes on our backs and a few suitcases plus a tiny bit of money that we managed to scrape together. Now we all have our own homes, jobs and are happy with our lives. Australia is a ʞ©$ɟing great place to be and all this bullcrap about taking our liberties is a load of shit. Society is what it is and it will always be that way, learn your place. You need to live in a country where your liberties are actually taken away, then see how you feel in comparison with Australia. Without all these "big wigs" Australia would not be what it is today. Want to blame someone for inflation? blame yourselves for wanting the cheapest ʞ©$ɟing deal on absolutely everything. Would you pay $6 for a 2 litre milk? No you want to pay $3 so the farmers wear that cost because you want the cheapest cost. Same goes with everything you buy. Someone has to make it, some one has to transport it and someone has to sell it and everyone needs to make make money from it. The reality is that consumers have a big part to play in money and where it goes. Too many tin foil hats.

It seems as though that inner tube has no airflow over it to cool it down like the outside ones would due to airflow from the front of the car. With the heat wrap around it would have added to the over heating. All of the other tubes that are not over heated or warped have free air contact whereas the warped runner is surrounded and barely any space for cool air to circulate.

I could never understand why this would even be thought of for a road car...... It was introduced for 250+ hp bikes for stability in high rpm, high speed corners. Sure it might sound funky but then again you could just buy a rotary and give it a massive BP.

I fail to see how this has anything to do with the government. Just some dickweed who managed to get into the police force. I think that you'r going a bit overboard on this one and blaming the government for someone with his own agenda. Something is being done about this incident, the officers involved are facing litigation. I can see both sides of this though, there are far more attacks on police officers then there is excessive force incidents. I sure as hell would not want to be a cop in the US of A. Like one of the latest incidents of a man who was pulled over and then proceeded to spray the officers with an automatic gun. Or the drug dealer who ambushed police officers during an arrest of a fellow dealer. No doubted there would have been a crowd of fellow drug dealers crying police brutality. Too many tin foil hats going around.

I can see both sides of this argument, but corruption follows everyone. Government or not someone would want to take advantage of you and at least with a government in place you can see who it is that is stealing from you. I don't think that having a government is the problem, but more so the corruption that runs rampant through major business that then filters down to the government. If you want to live somewhere without a government or at least a government that can't control it's populace go live in Sudan or the DRC. You can go down the the river with the bucket that you own and filter the water that you can freely get, if there is no drought of course. Take a ride on your donkey round the dirt track, escape warlords etc. Lots of fun to be had and no one to tell you otherwise! The government provides control and an all encompassing set of rules that everyone has to follow, whether we like it or not. They also provide services to infrastructure. If the government was to disappear tomorrow do you think that there would be someone to pick up you garbage each week? Who would fix your roads? Who would decide what gets fixed? Who would control the local markets? All the people with money would get an even tighter grip and the poor would get poorer, that's what would happen if there was no government. There always has to be a leader, there always has to be an umpire. Imagine a game of footy without a ref, it would just turn out to be a brawl. An idealistic world without a government can not exist simply because of human nature. Sure we don't like allot of things that the government does but better with than without.

With what you can get out of an AMR500 you should be fine as long as your fuel mixtures are good and if you treat the car well it should last for a while. This also depends on the condition of the engine that is being supercharged. If it has high k's and a manual the bearings might be a bit worn and could go as a result of the added stress. There are plenty of people that run stock cr 4ks' with boost and have had them running for a long period of time. The AMR500 would be at it's upper limit providing around ~14psi (without doing any calcs) so with a standard pulley setup you would get around 9 psi.

It would be much more sensible to just buy a GZE and loom than to try to convert. Less time and effort too. Buy an engine hoist for $250, socket set and screwdriver set and you are ready to do a conversion. This question has come up so often that there should be an auto detect and an auto response saying "NO". I have done an engine swap with less than that. Firstly, yes you would bust the engine. A GZE does not feel fast, it feels like you have a 2ltr engine instead of a 1.6ltr engine. This brings about the want for more boost, which a stock internal NA would not like very much. Not that it would like any boost in the first palce. The simple cost of finding an SC12 and all the little bits and pieces to convert would equate to almost the same cost as just buying a crate motor minus the reliability. Then you bolt on a turbo instead of the supercharger and have waaaaay more fun. Usually this question comes up because the person asking the question does not want to spend the money that reality says that it should cost. Do some more research. Best thing that I found works is to sit on an idea for about 3 weeks. Then the hype of the idea wears off and you can judge if it's a silly idea or not. I've had my fare share of some dumb ideas and I'm sure that many people on here have too. Listen to the guys on here, they know everything that there is worth knowing.

In my opinion, or more so what I would do Is to make a whole new set up. Get a brand spankin new eyelet and solder PTFE heavy gauge wire to it and splice it into 3 more PTFE wires which will then connect to new in line or spade type fuses on a terminal block. This terminal block would then be placed in an area eassily reached. PTFE wire is a teflon based outer sheath so the hot exhaust will not affect the wiring, thus no degradation. PTFE wiring is also usually much better quality as well giving less voltage drop per metre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polytetrafluoroethylene . The only bad thing is buying in the stuff, as it is expensive and usually not sold in small quantities. Alternately you could wire it up with PVC and route it in a way to avoid damage from the elements.

Just on a side note, you can spot the publica in the front of the yard if you do the zooming in thingy. Keep moving across the front of the yard, starting from the buildings and move to the right. You will see a yellow and also a blue car facing in your direction, then just behind them is a red car. Right next to that red car to the right is the publica slightly obscured by the blue wagon. Here is a google maps location: -34.408744, 138.988010 No idea on the phone number because it is a privately owned yard. It's not really even a wrecking yard, just his collection of rusting out cars. One of my work mates is friends with the owner and I had the honour or running about his yard taking photos. If your mate seriously wants parts he should look into it as soon as possible. A while back I heard the owner was not in good health and his yard would be passed onto his son, who would scrap every single car out there. Good luck!
